Role Snapshot
This role is responsible for achieving Medicare Supplement sales objectives by working with the WPS Medicare Sales team to sell WPS Medicare Supplement plans direct to consumer and support broker sales by helping us maintain the sales service and support we are known for. This role sells directly to Medicare eligible prospects and is responsible for meeting sales goals through telephone sales, face-to-face, and virtual interactions.
Salary Range
$70,000 plus sales incentive
The base pay offered for this position may vary within the posted range based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
Work Location
We require this employee to live in the areas of Madison, Wisconsin or Milwaukee, Wisconsin as this position will have occasional travel to our Madison offices to take advantage of Hybrid collaboration.
In This Role You Will:
- Through consultative sales, educate prospects on Medicare and our Medicare supplement plan to help drive growth and achieve team sales goals.
- Be a trusted advisor to prospects to help educate them on Medicare and WPS' products and services.
- Identify a prospects needs and help enroll them in our Medicare Supplement plans.
- Stay updated on current trends and competitors in marketplace to provide updates to leadership and make recommendations for furthering WPS' success in the Medicare market.
- Collaborate with the Medicare sales team to support direct to consumer sales and our broker partners.
- Maintain a high level of quality sales activity through in and outbound calls that includes accurate and timely documentation in our CRM.
- Provide webinar and seminars presentations to prospects.
- Participate in health fairs and other venues to promote the WPS Medicare Supplement product.
- Collaborate and help answer questions from the part-time and seasonal sales staff.
Other Job Factors:
- Collaborate with the direct and agency sales team channels to help drive WPS Medicare Supplement sales.
- Utilize sound judgment to facilitate escalated situations involving prospect related sales and service questions, as well as respond to questions pertaining to underwriting, general insurance, or special enrollment periods.
- Maintain contact with internal staff across organization and external audiences to resolve issues, address questions, escalate issues, provide follow-up, suggest ideas, and give sales updates.

- Serve as an expert and resource in industry for prospects, agents and internal staff to make recommendations to management for furthering WPS success.
- Must be able to determine which prospects to focus on based on urgency, their potential for purchasing our Medicare Supplement plan and potential referrals.
- Must be able to tailor conversations to prospects based on their level of understanding.
- Addressing objections and concerns from prospects to offer strategic solutions.
- Determining when and how frequently to follow-up with prospects to maximize sales without being overly persistent.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in related field OR equivalent post high school education and/or work-related experience
- 2 or more years of health insurance, customer service or sales experience.
- Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record and have an accessible Vehicle for travel
- Must hold a valid Wisconsin Health and Life Insurance License. (FL licensee and other states licenses will be required after being hired.)
- Familiarity with Medicare and Medicare Supplement plans.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Medicare insurance product knowledge.
- 3 or more years in health insurance sales.
- Confidence in giving presentations to small or large audiences
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office
- Experience working with prospects in a sales environment.
Travel
- Occasional travel may be required to meet with a prospect, attend an insurance-related event, or to the Madison campus for meetings.
