Job Overview

This position has direct responsibility for supervising and reviewing the two Commercial Accountants' work, handling more complex closing procedures and interfacing with auditors. The incumbent will also prepare more difficult monthly program reports, handle issues with LCM programs, perform analysis for allowances, field customer and sales questions on assigned programs, calculate PPI adjustments, calculate contract termination payments and calculate revised rebuild pricing for amendments and PPI adjustments Additionally, the incumbent will be expected to facilitate process improvement initiatives related to the LCM Programs in order to help meet the goals of the organization.

Key Job Responsibilities

- America's LCM programs are maintained and monitored to provide accurate and timely reporting to external customers, the Joy commercial team and key members of executive management. LCM customer issues are resolved and requests are met in a timely manner.

- Assisting with developing the economics for new customer proposals and existing customer contract renewals and amendments.

- Assisting with the preparation and communication of LCM selling presentations and internal review presentations.

- Invoicing and required monthly and quarterly journal entries and reconciliations are prepared in a timely and accurate manner.

- Internal accounting controls are maintained and interface effectively with internal and external auditors.

- Further the development of automation for the accounting and reporting of LCM contracts, including the integration of Joy systems with customers' systems to bring some additional value added services to the customer.

Predominant Tasks

- Supervise Commercial Accountants with their daily, monthly and quarterly LCM responsibilities.

- Review and approve monthly and quarterly journal entries as needed for various commercial programs including allowances, leases, service recoveries and re-class entries for financial presentation purposes. Also includes reviewing Commercial Accountants' reports, reconciliations and ad hoc projects.

- Handle customer requests and develop resolutions for issues with respect to LCM programs

- Interface with internal and external auditors as needed during each quarter and year-end audit process.

- Ensure that all corporate reporting requirements are met on a timely and accurate basis.

- Ensure internal controls are maintained to achieve zero Sarbanes Oxley deficiencies.

- Responsible for special analysis projects and ad hoc reporting as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements

This position requires a bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or a related field, plus 3-5 years experience in a business environment. Experience in a manufacturing environment or in public accounting is a plus. Proficiency in general accounting and financial analysis is important. A good knowledge of Microsoft windows based products, especially with regards to Excel, is imperative. SAP knowledge is also desirable. Strong analytical and interpersonal skills are required. Candidate must be a highly motivated self-starter, hard-working, detail-oriented and able to communicate effectively (both verbally and in writing) with people internally and externally.
