This role is open to either hybrid (Omaha Metro) or remote work, depending on the location of the incumbent. If hybrid, it is anticipated that an incumbent in this role will work onsite for three (3) or more days a week and will have a dedicated workspace when working onsite. If remote, it is anticipated that an incumbent in this role will work remotely 100% of the time and will share a hoteling workspace if/when working onsite, as determined by business needs. The incumbent can work remotely from anywhere in the United States, unless otherwise specified in the job posting. Work location is subject to change based on business needs.

Summary of the Job:

The Direct Mail Marketing Strategy Director is responsible for driving the acquisition direct mail strategy for our credit card portfolio. This role owns the development and execution of marketing plans focused on profitability, segmentation, and targeting, ensuring initiatives are aligned with enterprise goals and risk tolerance.

As a key strategic influencer, this individual partners across the organization-working with leadership, cross-functional teams, and external partners-to clearly communicate direction, secure buy-in, and deliver innovative, data-driven solutions. This role is critical in driving profitable growth within the Partner Segment through thoughtful strategy, analytical insight, and cross-functional collaboration.

About This Role:

Strategic Leadership & Channel Growth

  • Serve as the enterprise leader and subject matter expert for the direct mail channel within credit card acquisition.
  • Define and evolve the long-term vision, strategic roadmap, and investment plan for direct mail.
  • Establish strategic priorities for the channel based on performance trends, market shifts, and organizational goals.
  • Advocate for the direct mail channel across the business, clearly articulating its value, role, and future potential.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to integrate direct mail strategy into broader marketing and business objectives.
  • Partner with Legal, Risk, and Compliance to align channel strategy with regulatory and risk frameworks.

Campaign Development & Execution

  • Develop and manage the annual direct mail marketing calendar.
  • Design campaign-level strategies including offer structure, pricing, segmentation, and test plans.
  • Work closely with Account Executives and partner contacts to ensure campaigns align with broader partner goals.
  • Manage campaign P&L, ensuring profitability and strategic alignment.
  • Oversee channel budget and resource allocation.

Performance Analysis & Optimization

  • Analyze campaign and channel-level performance, identifying optimization opportunities.
  • Translate data into actionable strategies and persuasive narratives for leadership and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Credit, Decision Sciences, and Finance to ensure strategies are backed by sound data and modeling.

Execution Partnership & Enablement

  • Guide implementation teams to ensure campaign execution aligns with the strategic vision.
  • Provide clear direction on segmentation, creative requirements, and test strategy.
  • Ensure marketing activities are executed accurately and compliantly.

Compliance

  • Adhere to and promote compliance with the Bank's BSA/AML Program, including:
  • Complying with Customer Identification and Due Diligence policies
  • Monitoring and reporting suspicious activity
  • Completing required compliance training in a timely manner

Minimum Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field required
  • 8+ years of experience in direct marketing, preferably within credit cards or financial services
  • Detail-oriented, with exceptional project management and prioritization skills
  • Strong analytical and financial acumen with experience in P&L ownership
  • Proven leadership in setting strategy and guiding cross-functional teams toward a shared vision

Compensation:

Compensation range (base pay): $95,857.00-$162,957.00

This role may have a specific starting pay within this range.

Final compensation offer to candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon work experience, education, and/or skill level.
