Histotechnologist PRN Days

Responsible to section, stain and mount tissue specimens in preparation for microscopic examination by thePathologist. Assists the Pathologist in making various examinations on submitted tissue specimens andsubsequent preparations. Performance of duties is in accordance with CLIA '88 guidelines. Performs qualitycontrol, quality assurance, maintenance and troubleshooting. Duties may also include clerical tasks, specimencollection, and related laboratory services.

Requirements:

Associate degree that includes 12 hoursin both biology and chemistryOR At least 60 semester hours, or equivalent,from an accredited institution that, at aminimum, includes 12 semester hours ofboth biology and chemistryAND 1 year of documented clinical experiencein a histopathology laboratory within thelast five years.

ASCP certification or eligible for certification as Histology Technician by ASCP required within 6 months of the completion of the 1-year in-house training program.
