About the Role

In this position you will be responsible for loudspeaker design, supporting the proliferation of current and new transducer technologies focusing on cost efficiency / reliability and continuous improvement. Help Lead failure analysis and problem-solving efforts as part of design related validation failures.

You will have a demonstrated track record of success with transducer engineering, customer facing interaction, and understanding / knowledge of manufacturing and quality systems.

What You Will Do

  • Lead customer project RFQs for loudspeaker selections focusing on: continuous improvement as part of the loudspeaker development, customer specifications and requirements, acoustic performance, component re-use, cost efficiency, and reliability

  • Active participation in the RFI/RFQ phase with concept development of loudspeaker designs with regards to all external and internal requirements

  • Support transducer development with loudspeaker engineering team on assigned new project development and existing products

  • Support the global transducer engineering team to design and validate speakers to meet or exceed customers requirements and specifications

  • Provide technical support and input on acoustic performance, durability, costand manufacturability at design, peer and feasibility reviews

  • Be the interface to the customer relating to specific design details, technical data and loudspeaker performance related topics

  • Support and review all relevant documentation such as Bill of Materials, Sketches, Simulation data, Performance data, DFMEA/DRBFM, DVP&R, and all other documentation required to support the development process and customer requirements

  • Use, maintain, and improve upon Speaker Best Practices via the Lessons Learned process and the Knowledge Management System

What You Need to Be Successful

  • BS engineering degree or equivalent and 5+ years minimum post-graduation experience in the field of transducer design

  • Technical Project management skills

  • Working Knowledge of:

    • COMSOL, Magnet, or other transducer modeling Experience

    • DFMEA (Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis) and/or DRBFM

    • Problem Solving Methodologies (8-D, PHASE-5, test reporting, Fault Tree Analysis, Fish Bone Analysis, etc.)

    • Automotive component integration

Bonus Points if You Have

  • PMP (Project Management Professional) training

  • GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance)

  • Automotive requirement and procedures (APQP / PPAP / DVP)

  • Experience working with PLM and PDM systems

  • Experience working with automotive OEM Audio Engineering

  • Customer / supplier negotiations and interfaces

  • New product launches and quality support

  • Experience working with global teams

  • Chinese, Japanese, and/or Spanish language/communication skills

Pay Transparency
$ 87,750 - $ 128,700
Dependent on the position offered, other forms of compensation are also available, such as bonuses or commission.

Pay is based on a wide range of factors, including, without limitation, skill set, experience, training, location, and business need. While the above range is a reasonable estimate of the wage range for this position, please note the disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographical differential associated with the location where the position may be filled.
