Job # IT25049 Job Title IT Operational Excellence Director Office Location Houston, TX Business Function/Department Information Technology Sales Territory, if applicable N/A General Role Description Develop and execute IT strategies to enable achievement of Mid-Range Plan (MRP) objectives and sustainable and secure growth of the Company's technological infrastructure. Role Accountabilities - Design and staff an organizational structure that can effectively ensure successful delivery of IT services aligned with business strategy and objectives - Allocate resources within the context of the function's and the Company's strategic direction and economic health to ensure alignment with the Company's priorities - Determine the budget and business resources required to ensure cost-effective solutions and use of resources in coordination with BUs and other Shared Services - Ensure effective risk management and communication, in compliance with parent company policies and contractual terms and conditions, to protect the organization from liability and ensure IT process reliability, security, and business continuity - Ensure IT governance policies, practices, and procedures comply with all applicable laws and regulations of US and all other countries with related laws applicable to Company and parent company - Build and sustain productive relationships with Company and parent company contacts to ensure timely and accurate communication of issues, concerns, and requests for assistance are acknowledged and subsequently addressed - Develop effective and collaborative relationships with suppliers and service providers, domestically and internationally, to deliver cost-effective solutions that meet internal and external client commitments and Company business goals - Provide timely updates on status and results, as scheduled, necessary, and requested, to Company and parent company management, including, but not limited to, research, analysis, evaluation, and recommendations - Diagnose gaps between IT's current and desired project performance and deploy strategies to resolve - Develop and manage an IT Performance Dashboard to track effectiveness and efficiency of the IT functions - Coordinate project teams for successful execution of projects, ensuring that company objectives are met General Employee Accountabilities - Bring full effort to bear on tasks assigned by manager - Give manager best advice - Give earliest notice when work cannot be delivered as specified - Cooperate and collaborate with peers and interact cross-organizationally as specified by manager - Exemplify Company Core Values: Integrity, Client Focus, Team Orientation, and Personal Commitment - Comply with all Company policies, practices, and procedures and all regulations and laws - Recommend viable improvements proactively - Ensure effective utilization of business tools and processes Manager Accountabilities - Build and lead a team of committed and capable employees - Plan for, appropriately assign, resource, and integrate the work of the team - Lead, expect, and implement continuous improvement - Own the output of the team - Ensure team members fulfill functional and general employee accountabilities - Exercise effective managerial leadership to include - Two-way managerial team working - Fair and just treatment of direct reports - Context setting - Planning - Task assignment - Ongoing performance management - Coaching - Selection and orientation - De-selection and dismissal Minimum Qualifications - Bachelor's Degree in IT, Computer Science or related field, or equivalent via education and/or work experience - 5 years' project or program management experience - 10 years' experience leading IT teams to achieve business goals - Demonstrated advanced knowledge of IT systems, infrastructure, and cybersecurity - Demonstrated use of keen business acumen to develop effective strategies and determine appropriate priorities for improved business results - Proven ability to influence without authority and achieve business goals collaboratively across all functions and levels of an organization - Demonstrated skills in analytical and creative problem-solving - Demonstrated ability to balance strategic direction with hands-on, tactical work - Demonstrated successful working relationships with clients, suppliers, and other internal and external contacts - Demonstrated successful and positive personal leadership, interpersonal, organizational, administrative, and communication skills - Demonstrated continuous improvement in areas of responsibility - Proficiency in MS Office and an ERP business system - Availability to travel, domestically and internationally, approximately 25%, sometimes with limited notice Preferred Qualifications - MBA - Experience / Certifications in Risk management, Enterprise architecture (TOGAF or similar), ERP/Oracle/SAP, Business applications management, Infrastructure Management, PMP certification or equivalent, IT Service Management/ ITIL, or Information Security/ Cybersecurity.
