Under general supervision performs a variety of duties in the Survey Group such as:
Core Responsibilities
- Carrying out instructions in field and office survey procedure and using such tools as machetes, hammers, prism poles, electronic data collectors, computers and other technological devices common to current survey practice.
- Operate prism poles, simple survey programmable calculators, desktop and laptop computers common to field and office practices in industry.
- Perform miscellaneous field and office duties as instructed, such as: clearing line of sight with machete or axe, carry equipment up to 50 pounds, drive auto and light truck, climb difficult terrain in extreme heat or cold, operate modern computer for simplistic data gathering and downloading, transfer data electronically to other locations, make rough work plots via computer generation, perform routine filing, archive researching, produce simple office documents (reports, letters of transmittal, work requests, etc) via computer programs, etc.
- Operate survey computers in an office environment that can download field data, maps and drawings from internal or external company sources and help out them in a format that can be evaluated, processed and passed on to others in an electronic environment.
Required Education/Experience
- High School Diploma/GED and 4 Years of documented survey experience including three years experience with hardware and software currently in use by the company or equivalent industry standard. or
- High School Diploma/GED with a two year technical degree in surveying or engineering
- technology.

Relevant Work Experience
- Must have working knowledge of CAD. Required
- Must be physically capable of performing field surveying in various terrain and temperatures. Required
- Must have basic interest in survey work in both an indoor and outdoor environment. Required
