In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining CNC programs, creating new programs, and optimizing existing ones. Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Write, develop, and edit CNC programs in conjunction with continuous improvements
  • Plan machining operations by reviewing work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
  • Create Programming instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs.
  • Analyze drawings, blueprints, and design data in order to calculate correct part dimension for machines, tool selection, machine speeds, and feed rates.
  • Occasionally set up and operate CNC equipment as needed.
  • Maintain specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
  • Use precision measuring instruments including micrometers and calipers, and fixtures and gauges to check work and perform detailed inspection of parts produced
  • Read Instrumentation and gauges to accurately measure dimensions on parts being machined within specified tolerance.
  • Completing quality control tests during the manufacturing stage and on the final product.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred. High School diploma or GED required.
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in CNC programming
  • Experience programming 5 Axis vertical and horizontal mill machines.
  • Must have knowledge of high temp alloy metals such as titanium, Inconel, aluminum and stainless steels
  • Must be proficient in CATIA V5
  • Coordinates with engineering and manufacturing staff to resolve issues regarding manufacturability of designs
  • Must have working knowledge of 3D solid modeling concepts and design skills.
  • Required: Compliant with the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), which requires U.S. Person status (ITAR defines "U.S. Person" as a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident.)
