Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience and/or education, and location. This position is also eligible for an annual bonus.

Summary

The Automation Specialist handles automation of processes and tasks using automation software tools. Responsible for development, testing, and deployment of automated processes, as well as maintenance of existing workflow processes. This includes automating data entry, creating automated workflows, and identifying areas of improvements in existing processes. Responsible for monitoring the performance and accuracy of automated processes, as well as troubleshooting any issues that may arise.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Creates, enhances, and implements Script Automation, Process Improvement, and Workflow Solutions
  2. Serves as a subject matter expert to assist business units with evaluating and recommending process improvements and technical solutions.
  3. Analyzes existing processes to identify areas of improvement. Troubleshoots any issues that may occur in automated processes.
  4. Ensures the integrity of system changes through preparation and execution of test plans, documentation, procedures, and Change Management approvals.
  5. Complies with and stays abreast of all policies and procedures, federal and state laws applicable to the job.
  6. Provide, present, and promote The Citizens Experience to all external and internal customers.
  7. Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline from a four-year college or technical school or 1-2 years of job-related experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to define problems or inefficiencies in processes/existing solutions, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Computer Skills

  • Experience developing and working with automation tools, such as Microsoft Power Platform Solutions (Power Automate or Power Apps), SMA OpCon, RPA, or Python.
  • Experience with API, SQL Server DB, MS SQL Server, and SQL Scripting.
  • Experience with a range of programming languages used for automation, such as Python, PowerShell, and SQL.
  • Power BI Knowledge a plus
  • Azure Knowledge a plus
