The Civil Systems Technology Division Spectrum Management group seeks a Senior Spectrum Management Specialist (Solution Architect Specialist IV) to work with USSF Space Systems Command Space Domain Combat Power Spectrum Management Office. As a Senior Spectrum Management Specialist, you will be interfacing with the Kirtland program offices developing spectrum management assessments, plans, processes and filings. You will work collaboratively with USSF program officers and staff, other civil agencies, university partners, commercial customers, as well as our Aerospace engineering and program development staff. The Spectrum Management Specialist will be responsible for developing strategies responsive to customer needs, develop and cultivate customer relationships and coordinate with Aerospace's Engineering and Technology Group (ETG) to provide specialized analyses.

Work Model

This is a full-time position based in Albuquerque, NM, offering a hybrid work model that combines 4 regular onsite workdays and remote flexibility as the business needs allow.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Provide professional engineering/scientific support within (research and development) engineering, systems engineering, project engineering, or technology functions/ organizations.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in spectrum management and engineering.
  • Engage with customer and work with other program office staff and ETG to support task execution.
  • Support customer programs in meeting analytic and regulatory requirements for spectrum use authorization.
  • Support customer by creating the necessary documentation for spectrum filings with the National Telecommunications Information Agency.
  • Support customer programs by creating the required spectrum supportability risk analysis.
  • Support customer programs by reviewing program related Electromagnetic Interference test plans and reports.
  • Participate on teams as needed towards meeting customer tasks. Prepare and review details of analytical reports, including preliminary findings and recommendations. Present status and planning briefings as needed for all levels in the customer and Aerospace communities.

What You Need to be Successful:

Minimum Requirements:

  • 8 or more years of progressively responsible professional experience and applicable direct experience with ground system command and telemetry hardware and/or software.
  • Proven capability to evaluate issues and solve problems from a systems perspective.
  • Ability and motivation to work effectively and collaboratively with Government, Aerospace and Contractor personnel
  • Self-sufficiency, initiative, and excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.

How You Can Stand Out

It would be impressive if you have one or more of these:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in engineering, science, or equivalent technical discipline.
  • Knowledge and experience working with Aerospace ETG technical subject matter experts
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, prioritize, and resolve high-impact technical and/or program management issues
  • 20 or more years of increasingly responsible and related experience in a spectrum management related field. Knowledge of Radio Frequency (RF) systems including antennas, transmitters, antennas as well as Electromagnetic Interference and Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMI/EMC), RF testing and RF link analysis.
