Job Description

Responsible for performing advanced level repair and calibration for electronic boards, RF generators, DC/AC power supplies, and other general assembly's containing electronics. Must demonstrate ability to take a leadership role in evaluating repair requirements to ensure maximum availability of production equipment and work with area manager to define priority repairs. Interfaces with Equipment Managers, Engineers and Technicians to understand the failure mode in order to better identify permanent corrective repairs. Determine methods and procedures on new assignments. Must be self-driven in recommending new solutions to repeat failures which will help stabilize the failures for those repair assemblies. Must be able to work on difficult tasks as an independent contributor and in a team environment.

  • Ability to perform diagnostic troubleshooting and repair of malfunctioning equipment assemblies to component level (diagnostic to component level).
  • Ability to work under the direction of an Equipment Engineer and/or Engineering Manager to plan and execute improvement project initiatives for repair assemblies.
  • Able to develop his/her own resources to solve problems and provides imaginative solutions to a broad range of difficult problems producing significant results.
  • Analyze recurring repair assembly failures and be able to suggest innovative technical solutions, or new work methods.
  • Lead and direct the activities to develop/improve existing semiconductor assembly or module repair procedures.
  • Able to provide technical repair assembly training to other engineers and technicians as directed by the Equipment Area Manager.
  • Ability to perform diagnostic troubleshooting and repair of malfunctioning equipment assemblies to component level (diagnostic to component level).
  • Deep knowledge of analog and digital electronics, embedded systems, microcontrollers, power supply and RF generators
  • Skilled in using test instruments, circuit simulators, and support software
  • High attention to detail with high accuracy in designing, testing, and calibrating repair assemblies after repair.
  • Ensure all required assembly repair parts are on order and follow up as required to minimize equipment MTTR.
  • Able to travel to other Tower sites both Domestic and International for short durations (1-2 weeks) either for training or other site support
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal support.

Assignment Complexity

  • Work assignments are complex in nature, where analysis of data requires an in-depth evaluation of various variables. Lead important and high complex technical projects.
    Accountability/Discretion
    Viewed as a recognized technical expert on equipment assembly repair

Working Relationships

  • Interface with all Equipment Engineers, Equipment Technicians and Equipment Managers to identify and resolve failed Production Equipment assembly related issues and provide repair level training when requested.

Supervision

  • Acts independently to determine methods and procedures for new assignments.

Working Conditions

  • Works in an electronics repair lab environment

Job Requirements
  • Five or more years' technical experience in the repair of electronic board and modules.
  • Must have demonstrated working knowledge of advanced electro-mechanical systems operations and maintenance and be able to work with minimal or no assistance.
  • Must have strong knowledge of electronic theory, principles of electrical circuits, motor control systems and test procedures and the ability to troubleshoot to component level.
  • Associate of Science degree with an emphasis in Electronics or equivalent.

Compensation:

$28/hr - $42/hr
