Technical Support Engineer - Third shift

Job Summary

As a Technical Support Engineer on our Americas Coverage team, you will:

  • Provide technical support to field engineers, technicians, and product support personnel who are diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing and debugging complex computer systems, software, and networked and/or wireless systems.
  • Respond to situations where first-line product support has failed to isolate or fix problems in malfunctioning equipment or software.
  • Report design, reliability and maintenance problems or bugs to design engineering/software engineering.
  • Provide support to customers/users where the product is highly technical or sophisticated in nature.

*This position is in Wichita KS, with current on-site expectations of 2 days per week. Candidates local to Wichita need only apply!

*The schedule is Monday-Friday, 8pm-7am CT. Enjoy a 4-night workweek while receiving additional pay for working off-shift hours.

Job Requirements
  • A minimum of 5+ years of experience with several of the following protocols and applications:
    • ONTAP or storage in general
    • NAS: CIFS and NFS, TCP/IP and Networking
    • Windows and/or UNIX/Linux
    • SAN
    • Data Protection
    • Statistical Analysis using Performance Archive
  • Solid customer service and interpersonal communication skills are needed to work successfully with customers in high stress and/or ambiguous situations.
  • Strong aptitude for learning new technologies and understanding how to utilize them in a customer-facing environment.
  • Creative approach to analyzing and researching data, and problem solving.
  • Must be interested in working a 3rd shift work schedule.
Experience/Education
  • A minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience, as outlined above, is required.
  • Applicable education, certifications, and/or training are a plus, but not required.

Compensation:
The target salary range for this position is $100,000 - $130,000. The salary offered will be determined by the candidate's location, qualifications, experience, and education and may be outside of this range. Final compensation packages are competitive and in line with industry standards, reflecting a variety of factors, and include a comprehensive benefits package. This may cover Health Insurance, Life Insurance, Retirement or Pension Plans, Paid Time Off (PTO), various Leave options, Performance-Based Incentives, employee stock purchase plan, and/or restricted stocks (RSU's), with all offerings subject to regional variations and governed by local laws, regulations, and company policies. Benefits may vary by country and region, and further details will be provided as part of the recruitment process.
