About the Position: The NPI Global Commodity Manager (GCM) for Optical Modules and Cables (Optics) will develop and implement the NPI Optics commodity and supply-chain strategies in order to drive time-to-market, continuity of supply and cost reduction initiatives that enable Juniper's Optics business requirements. Responsibilities:
- Manages New Product Introduction (NPI) Optics commodities, including optical hardware systems, and pluggable optical modules and cables.
- Manages sourcing, including building and maintaining supplier relations, onboarding new suppliers, and driving Request for Information (RFI) and Quotation (RFQ) processes from inception, through suppliers and products selection to final production release.
- Leads suppliers and internal engineering teams through hall the qualification process of NPI optics.
- Leads suppliers to align their commercial, technical and product roadmaps to Juniper's requirements and lead periodic Supplier Business Reviews (SBR) to maintain suppliers' performance in line with Juniper's standards.
- Develops the company's commodity strategy along with other GCM peers, and works with internal stakeholders to implement it.
- Works closely with the engineering and PLM teams to influence technical and business objectives and decisions.
- Works with the team to meet regulatory compliance, including leading TL9000 audits.
- Leads contracts negotiations, including Master Purchase Agreements and Non-Disclosure Agreements.
- Works with peer GCMs on price negotiations for NPI and production optics, in order to achieve the company's annual cost reduction targets.
- Works with Juniper's Contract Manufacturers, Global Material Managers and suppliers to align supply with backlog and forecast demand.
- Work with cross-functional teams and peer GCMs' to maintain Optics through all lifecycle phases, from qualification through end-of-life.
- Identifies projects that add strategic value to Juniper's Optics portfolio, working with suppliers and internal engineering teams through all the qualification process.
- Monitors Optics industry trends to mitigate supply chain risks, determine new technology adoption, and explore new potential suppliers.
Minimum Qualifications:
- BS Engineering or equivalent.
- 5+ of experience as a commodity, material, product or program manager in Optics or Optics sub-components.
- General knowledge of Optics variants and their key components.
- Strong ability to influence, motivate and collaborate through a cross functional organization.
- Experience building cost models, negotiation strategies and monitoring market commodity trends and intelligence.
- Experience summarizing complex proposals and projects into executive presentations, and ability to present clearly and effectively to senior management.
- Fluent English.
- Proficient MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum 10+ years of work experience.
- Experience working with suppliers of Optics or Optics components.
- Experience working with contract manufacturers.

Minimum Salary: $168,800.00 Maximum Salary:$242,650.00 The pay range for this position is expected to be between $168,800.00 and $242,650.00/year; however, the base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position also includes medical benefits, 401(k) eligibility, vacation, sick time, and parental leave. Additional details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
