Anticipated Hiring Range: $19.75 - $24.38 hourly
Full Pay Range: $19.75 - $29.00 hourly

Salary offers are based on the candidate's equivalent experience and internal equity with other employees within the same job classification. This position is eligible for overtime compensation for all hours worked over 40 in the designated workweek.

About the Position

Come be a part of a dynamic legal team as a Business Services Assistant at the Office of the Legal Advocate!

In this role, you will be responsible for performing day-to-day specialized administrative task related to the office's business functions. You will coordinate the use of audio/visual equipment, conduct media copying or conversion projects, schedule video conferences, and assist employees with other business-related tasks and paperwork.

We Require

  • Two years of specialized clerical and/or administrative experience

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Must possess or have the ability to obtain a valid Arizona driver's license by the time of hire

We Also Value

  • Work in a law office, court, or indigent defense agency

  • Familiarity with the scheduling of video conferences, conversion, or duplication of files, and setting up audio/visual equipment

  • Prior experience working with case tracking programs such as Justice Nexus and JustWare

  • Advanced computer skills (including Windows 10, MS Office, Adobe Acrobat, SharePoint, PowerPoint, and Video editing software)

Job Contributions

  • Coordinate use of audio/visual equipment, including delivery or pickup within the office, at court, or other locations

  • Provide support for and work to expand video-conferencing capabilities, including audio editing services, media conversion, and duplication requests using technological equipment and related software

  • Assist attorneys with the preparation of courtroom presentation tools, and aid in the setup and operation of these tools in the courtroom if necessary

  • Manage and inventory all departmental technology-related equipment and projects

  • Serve as liaison with OET for technology-related needs and track all technical requests

  • Provide new hire technical set-up, which includes technical equipment assignment

  • Perform miscellaneous specialized business technology tasks as needed

Working Conditions

  • Ability to work with traumatic subject matters (crime scenes, accidents, etc.)

  • Frequent interruptions, time pressures, high volumes of work, handling multiple or complicated tasks, unscheduled tasks, frequently changing tasks, accuracy, decision making, concentration/vigilance, teamwork, working in close physical proximity with others, and public contact may be frequent occurrences

  • Ability to lift 15-25 pounds from the floor to waist; 15 pounds from the waist to shoulder or shoulder to overhead; carry 15-25 pounds 100 feet or push/pull 100 pounds 1000 feet

  • Ability to travel to and from job-related locations during a scheduled workday, subject to County policies regarding the use of County vehicles and/or private vehicles used on County business
