Overview

The Material Handler - Remnant Inventory & Material Movement (2nd Shift) is responsible for the accurate, efficient, and timely transport of raw materials, test specimens, and finished goods throughout the facility. This includes maintaining organized and traceable remnant inventory, ensuring material availability to support production schedules, and operating material handling equipment safely. This role is key to ensuring smooth workflow and minimizing delays in testing operations.

Shift 2: 2-10:30pm

Compensation:$21.00-$24/00/hour + $1.00

Employment: Fixed-term, full time for up to 6 months



Responsibilities

    Deliver test specimens along with associated work orders (travelers) to various departments promptly and accurately.

  • Track, organize, and properly store remnant materials in designated storage areas.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of remnant inventory using inventory management systems or ERP software.

  • Identify, label, and log usable remnants for future production or machining use.

  • Communicate proactively with department leads to prioritize material transfers based on production schedules.

  • Transport raw materials, test-ready specimens, and finished goods between departments as required.

  • Ensure all deliveries and material movements are executed in a timely manner to support testing and production timelines.

  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment safely and in compliance with company and OSHA standards.

  • Assist in periodic cycle counts and physical inventories.

  • Update inventory systems and documentation to reflect material movements, adjustments, and restocking.



Skills / Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • 1-2 years of experience in a material handling or warehouse role, preferably in a manufacturing or testing environment.

  • Experience operating forklifts and other material handling equipment (certification preferred or required within 90 days of hire).

  • Familiarity with inventory tracking systems and basic computer skills.

  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Work Environment:
  • Work is performed in warehouse, lab, and production environments.

  • May involve exposure to noise, temperature changes, and machinery.

  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required in certain areas.

  • Standing, walking, lifting, and manual material handling will be frequent.

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, and reaching throughout the shift.
