The primary purpose of this position is to answer inbound calls, clerical duties as assigned, and provide support for daily operations at The GIANT Company Perishable Distribution Center (PDC). DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Answer inbound calls to the transportation center and greet walk-ins; sort and deliver interoffice and mail; monitor entry to the facility * Coordinate uniform program to support the drivers and serve as the point of contact for the vendors * Comprise weekly/monthly billings and other transportation reports * Maintain reports for transportation supervisor; assist stores, PDC and office associates with transportation inquiries * Enter all forced distributions into the OMI system; transfer totals to the cross-dock tally sheet give completed sheets to supervisor on duty * Document and communicate all information for special requests from stores and the PDC to the supervisor * Collecting information on driver documents, requesting needed information from store and/or drivers; ensure drivers have all documents and supplies necessary to perform their duties * Other job duties as assigned by the transportation supervisor QUALIFICATIONS * Must be authorized to work in the U.S. * Be proficient inputting data into various computer programs/system with minimal errors * Data entry and report writing skills are required * Ability to communicate in a professional manner * Experience (minimum needed): 1-1 years administrative skills * Must be able to communicate and understand company policies and safety regulations to complete job duties in a satisfactory manner * Must meet the ergonomic and physical requirements, as well as the physical base scores for this position, with or without reasonable accommodation * Must be able to use, or learn to use, the equipment and tools used to perform this job * Customer-oriented attitude * Interpersonal skills * Self-starter with demonstrated ability to show initiative * Organizational skills with an eye for detail * Ability to comprehend and perform basic math PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS * This position is performed in an office environment with prolonged periods of being seated typing on a keyboard and viewing a computer screen; finger dexterity for keyboard use, sitting and standing as job requires * Shift Hours: Up to 8 hours shift or more depending upon business needs * Job Cycles: Continual Max * Lift/carry: 50 lbs. * Stand 15%, Sit 70%, Walk 15% * Category IV: Lifting, carrying, P/P up to 25 lbs. * Max Pull static: 20 lbs. PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS * Team members are responsible for understanding company policy and procedures as promulgated in the policy and procedure manual and the team member handbook * Experience with computer skills, Electronic Logging Devices, and the ability to interpret driving instructions * Ability to assist drivers with directions and providing stores with estimated arrival times The GIANT Company is an equal opportunity employer.
