DESCRIPTION

The Special Procedures Assistant Nurse Manager will oversee and assist in providing pre-procedure, intra-procedure, and post-procedure nursing care to outpatients undergoing special procedures. Have knowledge and skills in performs moderate sedation under the direction of the physician. Identifies and implements nursing interventions and evaluates results for a wide variety of patient populations. Directs, advocates, and acts as resource to other members of the nursing and tech team and performs other duties as needed. Promotes compliance and support for policies and participates in patient safety and quality improvement initiatives.

The Special Procedures Assistant Nurse Manager will be responsible for overseeing and directing of all staff caring procedure suite patients. This includes pain procedures, OBGYN procedures, IR procedures and future services added to potentially procedure suite. Minimal support to GI may be needed as well. The Assistant Nurse Manager will need moderate sedation certification and will be responsible for assisting with multi-phase care of procedure suite patients when needed.

The Assistant Nurse Manager is responsible for providing leadership and support in the daily management of nursing staff and patient care services. This role involves assisting the Nurse Manager with administrative duties such as staff scheduling, training, performance evaluations, and compliance with healthcare regulations and standards. The Assistant Manager helps to oversee the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care by guiding nursing staff, addressing clinical concerns, and promoting effective communication across the care team. They play a key role in fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment, ensuring that operational goals are met while upholding the values and mission of the healthcare organization.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Nursing is required.

  • Registered Nurse (RN) issued by the state of California.

  • Current ART certification, or BLS and ACLS at time of hire with commitment to get ART within six (6) months of hire date.

  • Two (2+) or more years or relevant leadership experience, including at least one (1) year of recent Procedures RN experience in an acute care hospital.

  • Must be able/certified to perform conscious sedation (Moderate Sedation Certification), or obtain within three (3) months of hire date.

  • Must be able to understand flow and work preop, intraop, and postop for procedure.

  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to quickly analyze problems, determine appropriate level of intervention, and develop and apply effective solutions.

  • Effective interpersonal and problem-solving skills and strong written and verbal communications skills.

  • Teamwork skills and ability to work effectively in a team setting.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master's Degree in Nursing or relevant area.

  • Certifications in relevant area.

  • GI or other procedural experience highly preferred.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS
  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $128,800 - $252,200 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $61.69 - $120.79

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
