IT Applications & Network Support Technician

We are seeking a skilled IT Applications & Network Support Technician to provide comprehensive technical support for our organization's desktop systems, network infrastructure, and business applications. The ideal candidate will possess strong troubleshooting skills, excellent customer service abilities, and experience supporting diverse technological environments.

Key Responsibilities:

Desktop Support

• Install, configure, and maintain desktop computers, laptops, and mobile devices in Windows and Linux platforms
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, including operating system problems, application conflicts, and performance optimization
• Perform system imaging, software deployment, and equipment inventory management
• Provide remote and on-site technical support to end users
• Maintain and update system documentation and asset tracking records.

Network Support

• Monitor and maintain local area network (LAN) and wireless network infrastructure
• Troubleshoot network connectivity issues, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN configurations
• Support network security protocols and access control systems
• Assist with network device configuration including switches, routers, and access points
• Support network cable installation and maintenance.

Application Support

• Install, configure, and troubleshoot business applications and software suites
• Provide user training and support for various applications including Microsoft Office 365, productivity tools, and industry-specific software
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights in Active Directory and cloud-based systems
• Support database connectivity and application integration issues
• Assist with software licensing compliance and vendor coordination

General IT Support

• Respond to help desk tickets and service requests in a timely manner
• Create and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and knowledge base articles
• Participating in IT projects including system upgrades, migrations, and new technology implementations
• Provide after-hours support as needed for critical systems
• Maintain inventory of IT equipment and coordinate procurement activities
• Configure, monitor, and maintain system backups.

Required Qualifications:

Education & Experience

• Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, OR equivalent work experience
• 2-4 years of experience in desktop support, network administration, or similar IT role
• Relevant industry certifications preferred (CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft certifications, etc.)

Technical Skills

• Proficiency with Windows 10/11, macOS, and basic Linux administration
• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and wireless technologies
• Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, and user account management
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, Exchange, and cloud-based applications
• Familiarity with remote desktop tools, ticketing systems, and IT service management platforms
• Basic understanding of virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V)
• Experience with mobile device management (MDM) solutions.

• Industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, or Microsoft certifications
• Experience with ITIL framework and service management best practices
• Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and practices
• Experience with scripting languages (PowerShell, Python, etc.)
• Familiarity with enterprise backup and disaster recovery solutions
• Experience with SOX testing and compliance
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
