District Sales Manager - On Premise (covering Hudson, Bergen and Essex counties) - This position will be based inElizabeth, NJand requires regular travel within your assigned territory. Occasional travel to company sites may be required as needed.

In this pivotal role, you will oversee a dedicated team of 5-8 sales representatives and floating merchandisers, managing an impressive portfolio of 150-300 accounts that generate $15-$30 million in revenue. Your mission will be to drive sales volume and revenue growth, ensuring our brands are represented with excellence in on-premise accounts.

As a District Manager-On Premise, you will be responsible for the comprehensive training and development of your team, utilizing a range of tools such as sales training modules, field ride-alongs, and performance assessments. Your leadership will be crucial in motivating your team to exceed sales targets, supporting them with expert advice and direction on customer orders, and resolving issues swiftly. You will lead weekly sales meetings, set ambitious goals, and manage the execution of monthly sales plans, ensuring our products are prominently featured and performing well in the market.

Your role will extend beyond team management to include key account management, where you will leverage your extensive industry and market knowledge to build strong relationships with independent business owners. You will also be involved in the recruitment and onboarding of new sales representatives, ensuring seamless coverage and support across your district.

What You Will Need:

  • High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 5 years of professional sales experience to include at least one year of Gallo wholesaler or affiliated or non-affiliated distributor experience that includes a holiday season reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Bachelor's degree plus 1year of professional sales experience with a Gallo wholesaler or affiliated or non-affiliated distributor that includes a holiday season reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  • 21 years of age or older.
  • Candidate is required to have a valid driver's license, a safe driving record and reliable vehicle (if applicable) at the time of hire. This position will undergo a motor vehicle check (MVR) to confirm a history of safe and responsible driving. If needed, candidate must obtain the appropriate state driver's license based on the position's location within 30 days of hire.
  • Required to lift or move 45 - 57 pound cases of product.
  • Required to work weekends for special functions/events when needed.
  • Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may be in addition to travel requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.

What You Will Set You Apart:

  • Bachelor's degree plus 3 years of wine sales experience to include at least one year of affiliated distributor experience that includes a holiday season; OR Bachelor's degree plus 2 years of retail and on-premise district manager experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Knowledgeable in Gallo sales/merchandising standards, policies, and selling skills.
  • Demonstrated Leadership aptitude and skill.
  • Completion of Fine Wine Training I certification
  • CSS and/or CSW certifications

Compensation:

  • Hiring salary range posted: $75,600- $113,400/ year
  • Actual compensation paid within the range will be determined by factors such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
