I. JOB OVERVIEW


Job Description Summary:
Established in 1865, The George Washington University Law School is the oldest in Washington, DC. The school is accredited by the American Bar Association and is a charter member of the Association of American Law Schools. The law school is located on the GW campus in the downtown neighborhood familiarly known as Foggy Bottom.
The Program Manager is responsible for overseeing the programmatic planning and coordination for the International and Comparative Law Program. The incumbent reports to the Associate Dean, International and Comparative Legal Studies. The Program Manager will be expected to support the International and Comparative Law ( ICL) Program in a range of administrative duties.
The Program Manager will have the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Assist the Associate Dean, International and Comparative Legal Studies for in planning and executing a wide range of program events such as: lectures, colloquia, conferences, events, and receptions
  • Oversee the administration of the Legal, Research, and Writing Program for international LL.M. students.
  • Manage the administration process of the summer GW Law-Oxford Human Rights Law program.
  • Manage and oversee the marketing strategy, publicity efforts, and social media presence of the ICL program, including updating the program's website information.
  • Serve as a point of contact for students and provide guidance to students regarding LL.M. and J.D. concentrations and careers in International and Comparative Law, among other tasks related to the Program. For example, by hosting regular office hours at times accessible to students and providing any pertinent information.
  • Assist the Associate Dean with recruitment efforts of JD and LLM student to GW Law School.
  • Work on other special projects and/or events that are central to the operations.


Performs other work-related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
Minimum Qualifications:
Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization plus 2 years of relevant professional experience, or, a Master's degree or higher in a relevant area of study. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

  • A J.D. or L.L.M. degree with coursework related to International and Comparative Law.
  • Strong administrative, academic, and research skills.
  • Proficient in communications and social media.
  • Ability to coordinate and organize conferences, symposia, meetings, and other special events.
  • Enjoys interacting with & helping students.
  • Proficient in utilizing Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, Google Drive, and similar operating systems.
  • Attentive to details.
  • Ability to be agile, skilled in prioritizing multiple assignments, and the ability to apply project management skills in order to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to interact with faculty, students, and staff in a team environment.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Skilled in communicating both orally and in writing.

Hiring Range $57,553.66 - $79,165.63
