Overview
Astrion looking for a Senior Space Systems Engineer to support the Space Systems Integration Office (SSIO) Requirements Support Cell (RSC) at USSF Space Systems Command (SSC), Los Angeles AFB, CA. These positions are key to integrating space system-of-systems capabilities across the SSC portfolio and USSF Space Enterprise.
Key Responsibilities

Support integration of cross-cutting space capabilities in collaboration with SSC stakeholders and USSF partners. -
Conduct requirements traceability from Mission Areas down to System level - assess capability gaps. - Serve as a self-starter who can work independently and proactively help customers define problems and shape solutions, even in emerging or poorly defined areas.

Perform Mission Engineering on Design Reference Missions and analyze mission threads for risks, issues and gaps. -
Develop and present briefings, technical reports, and architectural roadmaps. -
Collaborate with SWAC, CSRO/S5R, and PEO offices to define and prioritize integrated requirements for SATCOM, PNT, Missile Warning/Tracking, TacISR, SBEM, BMC3, Launch, and more. -
Identify capability gaps and recommend S&T investments to support evolving space mission needs. -
Contribute to development of war rooms, capability epochs and kill chain assessments. -
Assist with enterprise requirements development and JCIDS documentation. -
Analyze policy and technical derivatives of cross-cutting space requirements. -
Recommend practical, mission-driven solutions to meet performance, affordability, and sustainment goals.
Basic Qualifications

BS degree in Engineering, Physics, Earth Science, Mathematics, Operations Analysis, or related field. - 15+ years, exceptions considered based on demonstrated experience

Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel); adaptable to new analytical tools. -
Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills. -
Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and complex tasks in a fast-paced environment. -
Willingness to travel as required.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience with
space acquisition (military, contractor, or DoD civilian) as a SETA. -
Familiarity with the
DoD acquisition lifecycle and
JCIDS processes. -
Background in SSC mission areas: SATCOM, PNT, MW/MT, Space Weather, C3BM, Space Superiority, ISR, and Ground/Network segments.
