Senior Risk Quantitative Analyst

Summary

Perform quantitative analysis on models and assessments of their risks, coordinate with the first line to conduct testing of critical models and document results. Manage the model inventory in the company's governance solution, ensure timely updates of forms and questionnaires, maintain ongoing contact with model owners and reviewers, and oversee adherence to model risk policies and procedures.

Researches and applies knowledge of existing and emerging data management principles, theories, and techniques to inform business decisions. Develops tools, techniques, and theories to facilitate ongoing research activities of the organization. Uses predictive and prescriptive analytics tools to forecast what may happen using probabilities and the current confidence levels. Designs, develops, and manages data centric solutions. #LI-CJ1

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop and implement innovative data analytics solutions
  • Build reports and visualizations to effectively communicate data driven insights to stakeholders (e.g., visualization solutions of data into reports, graphics, dashboards to illustrate facts, trends, and insights
  • Work closely with partners across the business to identify and support analytical needs -actively listen and translate business needs into data, report, and visualization outputs
  • Drive self-service BI, analytics and reporting as well as the effective use of Tableau, Power BI, and related data & toolsets across NYPA
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues to help expand the analytics mindset and technical skills
  • Documents and maintains data analytics procedures and processes
  • Train business users (1:1 sessions and team trainings) in the use of BI & reporting tools
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Experience in data extraction, preparation, data analysis, data visualization, programming, database administration, and reporting
  • Excellent knowledge and hands-on experience with Data Visualization tools like Tableau, Microsoft Power BI
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and excellent presentation skills
  • Practical understanding of data science and the ability to support a data science team
  • Familiarity with DevOps and Agile methodologies
Education, Experience and Certifications
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Preference in Management of Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Engineering, Accounting, Finance, or related disciplines
  • Minimum of 3 years relevant experience in data preparation, repoting, analysis and visualization
  • Proficiency with tools like Power BI or Tableau, Databases, MS Excel, SharePoint, and other office tools, etc.
  • Experience working with data both on prem and in the cloud
Physical Requirements

Approximately 10% travel primarily within NY State, some out of state travel

The New York Power Authority is committed to providing fair, competitive, and market-informed compensation. The estimated salary range for this position is: $87,000-$119,900. The salary offered will be determined based on the successful candidates' relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
