  • Able to assist clients on all repair related topics?
  • Able to negotiate repair costs with suppliers both in and out of network?

As the Quality Control Specialist, you will be handling transactional responsibilities, have responsibility for physical damage spend, and give clients direct line of sight to how and why money is spent. In this role, you will be providing actionable insights on physical damage in real time to client contacts, attending client meetings and business reviews as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), and regularly educating internal stakeholders on the best practices regarding the Collision Repair industry.

A Day in the Life

  • Analyze all incoming estimates and photos to ensure repair plan is safe, cost effective, and consistent with brand image
  • Makes all spending decisions and recommendations for clients around repairing and/or replacing the clients vehicle
  • Analyzes repair estimates at line item detail on cars, light, medium, and heavy trucks and specialized equipment to determine validity and necessity of repairs
  • Identifies savings opportunities with regard to fleet vehicle selection and use case
  • Provides clarity on differentiating maintenance and collision related costs as well as fleet policy to handle them
  • Communicate with clients and client contacts on the intricacies of each repair
  • Deliver concerns to client contacts based on emerging trends, costs, nature of damages observed at the transactional level
  • Determine best practice for handling exceptions such as flood vehicles, contamination, weather/natural disaster
  • Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) within the Repair team for matters related to cost and methodology of repairs

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent required; Associates degree preferred
  • Minimum 3 years experience in automotive service industry-collision industry experience preferred - either hands-on or estimating
  • Knowledge of vehicle anatomy and repair techniques, including frame straightening, welding, and refinishing
  • Knowledge of state and federal regulations regarding collision repair a plus
  • A Physical Damage Appraiser license or equivalent experience
  • I-CAR certification preferred
  • Certifications/Licenses can be substituted for hands on experience

The hiring base salary range for this position is $51,600 to $70,720 annually. Actual compensation within this range will be dependent upon the individual's knowledge, skills, experience, equity with other team members, and alignment with market data. Please note that the disclosed salary range is solely for candidates hired to perform work within this geographic location. Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location.
