Data Analyst, Managed Detection & Response

The Role
Presidio is seeking a data-driven, operations-oriented data analyst to join our Managed Services team supporting our Managed Detection and Response (MDR) practice. This role is designed for someone early in their career who is eager to turn operational data into meaningful insight that drives customer retention, service optimization, and continuous improvement across the MDR lifecycle.

Responsibilities include:

• Build and maintain dashboards and reporting views (Power BI, Excel, ServiceNow) to surface real-time MDR operational KPIs - including detection efficacy, response SLAs, alert volume, and platform health metrics.
  
• Collaborate with MDR Customer Success Managers (CSMs) and Service Delivery Managers (SDMs) to deliver data-driven recommendations during onboarding, QBRs, and renewal discussions.
  
• Analyze MDR customer telemetry, SOC activity, and support trends to identify churn risks, threat patterns, and opportunities for service expansion.
  
• Partner with engineering and platform teams to enhance the use of tools like Logz.io, LogRhythm, Palo Alto XDR, and threat intelligence platforms.
  
• Conduct ad-hoc analysis using SQL, Excel/Sheets, Python, or R to explore strategic questions, as well as operational report development such as:
  
  
  
  
  • What telemetry sources generate the most actionable alerts?
  • Where are response bottlenecks emerging within SOC operations?
  • Which clients are under-utilizing the MDR service?
  
  
  
  
• Standardize and improve tracking of operational excellent in MDR including maturity progress, response time adherence, and detection coverage quality.

Required Skills and Professional Experience

• High proficiency with Excel/Google Sheets; familiarity with SQL or Python is a strong plus.
• Foundational understanding of MDR, SIEM/SOAR, and incident response concepts.
• Clear, concise communicator capable of conveying technical data to both technical and executive audiences.
• Curious mindset, attention to detail, and passion for operational excellence.
• Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced, security-driven services environment.

Preferred Skills and Professional Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field.
• 0-2 years of experience in data analysis, customer success operations, or managed services (internships welcome).
