The RBC Economics team is expanding and is currently seeking a motivated individual to join the growing US economics team, based in New York City. This role will report to the head of US economics, and be part of the broader global economics team. We are looking for someone with a proven interest in financial markets; history of academic excellence; and strong analytical and interpersonal skills.

The role will be required to be on-site with the opportunity for hybrid schedules upon the completion of a probationary period. The typical working hours will be 7:30am - 5:30pm.

Job Description

What will you do?

  • Contribute to the overall macroeconomic outlook of the US economy
  • Support senior economists in research development and publication
  • Contribute to analytical models that forecast key sectors of the US economy
  • Contribute to PowerPoint presentations
  • Support internal and external stakeholders by answering questions/surveys by providing RBC's economic outlook

What do you need to succeed?

  • 1-3 years of experience in economic analysis and/or data science
  • Advanced analytical mindset; experience using data analytic tools such as R, Stata, Python, etc.
  • Experience using PowerPoint, Word, Excel
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills
  • Strong understanding of US economic data and sources; experience using data aggregation software such as Bloomberg, Haver, or Macrobond
  • Bachelor's degree in economics, business, data science preferred
  • SIE, Series 7, Series 63 may be required

The expected salary range for this particular position is $65,000-$105,000 depending on your experience, skills, and registration status, market conditions and business needs.

You have the potential to earn more through RBC's discretionary variable compensation program which gives you an opportunity to increase your total compensation, provided the business meets its performance targets and you meet your individual goals.
