Field Service Environmental & Employee Health and Safety Specialist

The EHS Field Service Specialist (United States) shall be responsible for supporting the overall integration of the company's EHS system within field service and provide guidance in the United States. The role will provide leadership, direction, and oversight to field service and R&D teams to drive a safety culture for injury prevention, risk reduction, and sustainable use of environmental resources. The responsibilities include continuous improvement of compliance and risk management systems, establishing targets and monitoring EHS performance, facilitating effective governance, and collaborating within the function.

Work You'll Do:

  • Continually enhance the overall EHS management system within Field Service to assure compliance and eliminate risks

  • Establish and monitor EHS goals and targets in partnership with the business and Hillenbrand to improve safety culture.

  • Ensure compliance with global wide initiatives and local country regulations for field service

  • Ensure site specific EHS standards and training is developed and provided for field service teams

  • Provide technical expertise and leadership for field service and local leadership.

  • Provide visibility of trends, best practices, and opportunities for improvement as part of the EHS leadership team to drive change across Hillenbrand

  • Interact with external regulatory agencies to support projects and ensure all compliance obligations are fulfilled

  • Collaborate with Hillenbrand Region Field Service heads to reduce EHS risks for international travelers.

  • Monitor incidents in field service to ensure prompt and proper reporting and drive the deep dive investigation process.

  • Conduct field service projects assessments to evaluate performance and opportunities for improvement

  • Develop procedures for managing a field service project to ensure that all EHS risks are defined/reduced

  • Maintain safety awareness and a positive attitude towards incident prevention.

  • Help support site operations as required based upon geographical location, expertise, and to serve as a back-up for local EHS.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Travel: ~20% in the United States

Team:

The EHS Team consists of skilled associates working together to Shape What Matters For Tomorrow by partnering with customers to deliver solutions for a wide range of applications. This role will report directly to the EHS Head of Americas.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in EHS, Engineering, or other related field.

  • 5+ years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment required, a plus managing field service or multiple sites.

  • Experience with interfacing with regulatory agencies on matters of environmental or safety compliance.

  • Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and standards applicable to manufacturing.

  • Competent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated leadership skills and influence without power.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to work remotely and on EST time.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in EHS
