Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled claims representative to manage moderate to complex claims for our Commercial Specialty Accounts. This role involves handling cases that may include unique or high-risk elements not typically covered under standard commercial policies, as well as third-party general liability claims. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently with minimal supervision and guidance from the manager.



Work Location

This position offers both remote and hybrid work locations. Candidates who reside within 50 miles of an office location (West Bend, Madison, Appleton) will be offered a hybrid work schedule. Candidates who are fully remote (beyond 50 miles) may occasionally be asked to travel to an office location for in-person engagement activities such as team meetings, training and corporate events.



Responsibilities & Qualifications

Summary of Responsibilities
Handle moderate to complex claims for the commercial specialty accounts that may involve unique and/or high-risk features not typically considered under standard commercial policies, as well as third party general liability claims with minimal supervision and guidance from the manager. Utilize current Claims technology. Research and formulate a basis on which coverage decisions will be made, conduct thorough investigations, evaluate damages and liability. Negotiate settlements with insureds, claimants and attorneys. Responsibilities also include active file management, ensuring proper reserving, participation in training activities, presentation of claims to Committee and participate in projects and initiatives as needed. Serve as a mentor for others in the team or department. Consistently exhibit a high level of customer service and adherence to department audit guidelines.

Negotiation skills and problem solving skills
Prior experience handling large and complex claims
Oral and written communication skills

Preferred Education and Training
Bachelor's degree in Business, Insurance or related field
Associate in Claims designation
Associate in General Insurance designation
CPCU coursework or other continuing education
