DESCRIPTION
Investigates incidents, with a focus on specific technologies. Recommends device classifications and changes to the risk based medical equipment classification system. Performs equipment installation, maintenance, repair and technical support projects autonomously from start to completion in functional area across the medical center and / or health system. Job function is to assist with Diagnostic Medical Physics activities, especially Quality Control (QC).
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Four years of related experience, education/training, OR a Bachelor's degree in related area. Strong knowledge of biomedical equipment management, medical device technology, clinical engineering, server / network operations and security. Understand the architecture of how systems / applications function and interact with others. Measuring physiological parameter and transitioning to a metric used for diagnostic clinical purposes. Thorough knowledge of internal policies and external regulations related to biomedical equipment industry safety regulations and performance standards. Technical skills to maintain and repair biomedical equipment and integrate devices. Fosters customer service philosophy throughout the organization. Ability to identify customer and supplier needs / expectations and ensures they are met through regular communications and excellent service. Ability to manage a project through to completion while performing a wide variety of tasks, adapting to changing priorities, deadlines and directions. Interpersonal skills to maintain professional relationships with engineers, equipment technicians, and management in department and clinical staff who use the technology. Develops trust, contributes skills that compliment others and supports Clinical Engineering team efforts. Skills to evaluate issues and identify solutions within defined procedures and policies. Demonstrated ability to address problems and suggest solutions through critical thinking process. Verbal and written communication skills to explain technical Clinical Engineering concepts and articulate reasoning behind own opinions. Demonstrates active listening skills to understand varying opinions and receive feedback. Demonstrated and applied knowledge of the principles of radiation safety. Demonstrated knowledge, education and experience in radiation protection practices as defined by ALARA principle. Demonstrated experience in PACS. Demonstrated and applied knowledge of the principles of radiation safety.

Pay Transparency Act Annual Full Pay Range: $85,400 - $156,800 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%) Hourly Equivalent: $40.90 - $75.10 Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position.
