Introduction
MWRD's Internship Program offers paid internship positions. While the main focus is on wastewater management, there are opportunities to gain knowledge and practical experience in a wide range of functions in each department. Paid Interns Paid interns are limited to 119 working days per calendar year and receive $18.00 per hour. Required Documents:

Position Title: Research and Policy Intern Department: Board of Commissioners Location: Main Office Building 100 East Erie Street Chicago, IL. 60611 Description: The Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago (MWRD) is searching for a current student seeking an internship opportunity in the Office of the Board of Commissioners, focusing on research, policy analysis, program review, and communications. The intern will research and identify potential legislative priorities to support and advancestrategic planning objectives. Responsibilities will also include identifying partner organizationsfor outreach, developing engaging content for social media, drafting press releases, assisting withadvocacy campaigns, planning community events, and supporting internal communication efforts. Strategic priorities may involve urban agriculture, composting, improved governance, biosolidsmanagement, per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), energy and stormwatermanagement. Educational Requirements: Applicants must be a current graduate or undergraduate student seeking a degreein environmental science, communications, public policy and related fields. |
