A Brief Overview

Design, develop, test, and maintain reports in business intelligence software and other business applications used by Marketing, Business Managers, and other business partners (internal and external). Modify and run queries to determine if data is appropriate for the application. Create and maintain comparisons of the data with other sources on a regular basis. Scrutinizes data for integrity and reasonability. Participates in development and changes to these applications as necessary. Recommends areas for action based on analysis. May use modeling software and predictive analytics. Publish and share reports on a timely basis.

What will you do?

  • BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE SOFTWARE AND REPORTING: Utilizes business intelligence software to develop visual reports, dashboards and KPI scorecards for Marketing, Business Managers, and other business partners (internal and external) utilizing business intelligence software. Reviews connections to data sources, importing data and transforming data as needed.
  • DATA INTEGRITY: Modify and run queries daily to determine if the data is accurate and queries are running clean. Fixes basic problems without consulting management, referring only complicated or involved issues. Work with end-users to solve problems or answer questions that arise regarding the integrity of the data. Consults with Manager to determine if changes should be made when better ways or problems are found on more complex issues.
  • "REPORT CREATION: Designs or assists with designing visual and table-driven business development reports, marketing analytical tools and other agency or company management reports. Applies knowledge of mathematics, statistics, and principles of finance and business to develop reports. "
  • TROUBLESHOOTING: Creates, modifies, distributes, and trouble shoots regularly published reports used by business unit managers and senior management. Makes recommendations on changes needed to the reports to Supervisor and/or business unit managers.
  • CUSTOMER SURVEYS: Designs, maintains, and documents customer surveys on a regular basis. May prepare survey result reports and suggest changes to the business as a result of customer surveys. Makes changes to the surveys as directed as a result of changes in the business or industry.
  • CRM REPORTING: May act as administrator for our Customer Resource Management tool (CRM) and Digital Assistant tool. Designs, creates, and maintains data and reports for our CRM. Consults with management on needed changes. Works with management on training employees to use and access reports.
  • PRICING DATA: May develop, maintain, or modify programs for Pricing to produce standard actuarial reports such as rate level indications, loss rate indications based on total indicated rating factors, basic and total limits experience reports, and others.
  • DOCUMENATION: Creates written documentation and procedures for reports and testing. May be involved with data governance and architecture.
  • AD HOC REPORTS: Works with users to develop ad hoc reports, write queries on the data, etc. so that business unit personnel may use the data for business analysis purposes. Works with the Supervisor or business unit manager to establish additional ways in which individuals can better utilize the data.
  • TRAINING: May train others or write queries and pull data or develop their own business intelligence reports in accordance with our guidelines.
  • OTHER: Performs related duties as situation dictates such as participating in special projects, etc.

Education

Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent work experience.

Experience

Two or more years work experience.

Required Knowledge

  • Knowledge of Excel or similar spreadsheet software
  • Database manipulation software and/or software application development (ex. .NET, SQL, Python, etc.)
