Pay Grade/Pay Range: Minimum: $48,600 - Midpoint: $60,800 (Salaried E7)

Department/Organization: 224102 - Social Work

Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 4:45pm

Job Summary: The Training Specialist plans, organizes, directs, and conducts specialized training requirements for a college, department, or division.

Additional Department Summary: Delivers and implements the training curriculum to DHR employees with Family Service responsibilities. Assists with curriculum development. Provides feedback to participants and DHR representatives. Co-facilitates the training for DHR new employees and others identified by DHR that have Family Service responsibilities. Maintains attendees' records, feedback, and evaluation. Travels to alternate training sites as needed. Trainings will be coordinated through the Title IV-E Child Welfare Training Program Coordinator.

Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of creating and/or facilitating training experience; OR master's degree and some creating and/or facilitating training experience.

Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.

Must be able to travel the state and beyond and work irregular hours as needed.

Skills and Knowledge: Strong organizational, communication, and computer skills. Ability to carry out multiple tasks related to the Title IV-E activities within the Training Program. Ability to use critical thinking, decision-making, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills. Ability to make good sound decisions. Ability to be flexible while maintaining the efficacy of the curriculum. Ability to gather and analyze data from the Child Welfare Training Program for evaluation purposes.

Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree with training experience and some child welfare knowledge.
