What Your Job Will Be Like:

The facilities Subcontract Operations team is seeking a proactive and collaborative Facilities Tactical Planner to partner across Sandia and the vendor community to plan and execute maintenance and infrastructure services support.

On any given day, you may be called on to:



  • Make technical contributions throughout the contract lifecycle, which may include capturing and defining stakeholder requirements, accurately presenting issues and solutions, and acting as a conduit for information sharing across several functional areas.

  • Enter work order information, supporting documentation, and close-out information into Sandia's systems (Maximo, Oracle, Shared drives, etc.) accurately and timely.

  • Make technical and programmatic decisions regarding the direction of a work order or contract; be held accountable for the results of those decisions.

  • Manage all aspects of subcontract execution. Ensure adherence to subcontract terms and address any performance or compliance issues promptly.

  • Notify other Facilities teams of planned services activities and coordinate any scheduling conflicts with those teams and the team members.

  • Engage with business and procurement professionals to develop executable work processes that meet their needs while ensuring that service orders are implemented successfully.

  • Manage daily work and support multiple customers and staff members concurrently through project and service execution.

  • Assess completeness of supplier submittals (e.g., invoices, certifications, reports, etc.) for successful contract close-outs.

  • Lead contract close-out efforts for a high volume of contracts per Sandia's requirements.

  • Contribute to Sandia's success through accurately communicating issues and solutions within work function and act as a conduit for information sharing across several functional areas.

  • Be accountable for the results of activities assigned and communicate proactively to management on issues or concerns arising from assignments.

  • Evaluate methods/processes and to improve effectiveness and results.

  • Facilitate and participate in regular service order status meetings.

  • Attend site visits before, during and after activities to observe activities and compare field observations with documented activities in work order systems.



Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant must be able to work onsite.

Salary Range:

$72,800 - $140,600

*Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.

Qualifications We Require:



  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Project or Construction Management, Business, or relevant field, plus 5 years of relevant exempt experience; or an Associate's degree in previously stated field plus 9 years of relevant exempt experience; or a High-school diploma and 13 years of relevant exempt experience.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an active DOE L-level security clearance.



Qualifications We Desire:

Experience with the following:



  • Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and a facilities maintenance/management software (e.g., Maximo)

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Experience with contract/subcontractor management.

  • Experience with work planning and control.

  • Understanding of facilities processes and procedures.

  • Self-motivated individual that can work both independently as well as have demonstrated the ability to work effectively in team environment.

  • Demonstrated success in communicating with staff and managers and providing high quality service.

  • Ability to prioritize and balance competing activities.

  • Knowledge of current production and legacy elevator systems including the interactions between mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, controls, and software communications architecture.

  • Experience with elevator modernization, installation, maintenance, or other relevant experience.

  • Experience with work planning and control.

  • Understanding of facilities processes and procedures.

  • Self-motivated individual that can work both independently as well as have demonstrated the ability to work effectively in team environment.

  • Demonstrated success in communicating with staff and managers and providing high quality service.

  • Ability to prioritize and balance competing activities.

  • Knowledge of current production and legacy elevator systems including the interactions between mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, controls, and software communications architecture.

About Our Team:



  • The 4745 Subcontract Operations team provides oversight, delegated contract responsibilities, and work acceptance support for maintenance services, touching hundreds of requests per year.


Posting Duration:
