Position Summary
The Production Planner / Scheduler is responsible for preparing schedules based on customer requirements, manufacturing capacity and material availability.
The Production Planner / Scheduler develops schedules for all of the production lines, work cells, material arrivals and shipments.
Role Responsibilities
- Ownership of the Master Schedule
- Create and maintain production schedule to achieve company goals and deadlines.
- Maintain dynamic schedule in rkmc.app. Must be updated at all times.
- Solve production problems, seek to improve processes and help fulfill company expectations.
- Analyze past and present data to create effective schedules.
- Supply Chain material requirement schedule.
- RKMC Manufacturing locations and contract vendor site schedules.
- Prefabrication
- Production lines
- Work cells
- Shipments
- Recovery plans for past due items
- Work with Supply Chain or Engineering to solve material shortage issues
- Work with Production Management when an area is behind
- Advanced nonfiction of any schedule deviation that may result in a line stop or impact a customer commitment
- Work with teams to find a solution for every issue that effects customer deliveries
- Build trusted working relationships with team members and other business partners
Accountability:
- Produce achievable schedules for 100% on time delivery
- Comply with all company policies and procedures
- All employees are accountable for safety and health and are empowered to stop work if an unsafe condition is present. Employees should immediately notify their supervisor so that the hazard may be corrected
- RKMC employees and subcontractors are required to implement and maintain all safety and health systems practices including the training requirement of RK Mission Critical, LLC
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- 3+ year experience as a Master Planner in a Manufacturing Environment.
- Lean Six Sigma Training
- Lean Manufacturing Experience
- The ability to take initiative and be self-motivated
- Must be able to multitask and provide quick responses to production problems
- An adaptable and flexible attitude, allowing them to approach and solve a problem
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to collaborate within a team
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to self-train quickly and pick up new skills as necessary
Minimum Physical Requirements
- Work predominately inside and in dusty and noisy areas.
- Work in high places, tight places, and confined spaces.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Use of Personal Protection Equipment will be required
- Regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in conditions that include heat and cold.
- Noise levels can fluctuate from quiet to loud.
- Hazards associated with the industry.
