This is a 12-month, full-time (40 hours/week), hybrid contract role located in Los Angeles, CA.
Summary We're looking for a skilled Senior Writer to join our client's Marketing & Communications team to help enhance product-focused storytelling and investment insights. This individual will play a vital role in crafting high-quality, data-informed content that supports sales initiatives, drives thought leadership campaigns, and delivers key narratives across digital and print channels. This is a hybrid role with on-site work required Tuesday-Thursday to start (transitioning to Monday-Thursday beginning 9/8/25).
This opportunity comes as the hiring manager-new to the team and to hiring contractors-was brought on to identify and close gaps in investment content strategy. They are focused on expanding micro-level insights and product-focused narratives in support of broader marketing and sales goals.
Our Ideal Candidate
2-3 years of experience in financial writing, journalism, or related fields
Passion for the asset management industry, with a strong foundation in equity markets and macroeconomic trends
Demonstrates a working understanding of key investment metrics such as price-to-earnings and price-to-sales
Familiar with qualitative concepts like sector differentiation and active vs. passive strategies
Proficient in Excel (including pivot tables), Adobe, and Workfront (nice to have)
Able to analyze data sets to uncover new insights and craft narratives from them
Skilled in storytelling, with the ability to distill technical or data-heavy material into engaging content
Comfortable collaborating cross-functionally with subject matter experts, marketing stakeholders, and investment directors
Experience with multimedia and written formats; familiarity with omnichannel distribution including email, social, landing pages, webinars, and white papers
Strong written and verbal communication with exceptional attention to detail
Flexible and adaptable to shifting campaign goals, timelines, and stakeholder input
Job Description In this role, you will support content efforts around mutual fund products by creating compelling thought leadership, educational materials, and product narratives. You'll partner with internal stakeholders including writers, investment directors, and marketing leads to:
Conduct interviews with subject matter experts and synthesize input into compelling drafts
Write original and updated content across web, email, social media, white papers, reports, webinars, and presentation materials
Collaborate with marketing and creative teams on campaigns (e.g., scripting for webinars, developing digital landing pages, and drafting content for social promotion)
Distribute content via internal channels, such as targeted contact lists and team-aligned assets
Ensure that all communications meet brand, legal, and compliance standards
You will also manage timelines and support campaign execution from ideation to delivery, helping the team maintain strategic consistency and content quality.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Marketing, Communications, Finance, or a related field
Background in asset management, financial services, or editorial content development preferred
Experience in both multimedia and written content development
Writing samples required
Interview Process
1st Round: Panel interview with 3-4 team members
2nd Round: Final interview with 1-2 stakeholders
Includes a timed writing test
Total interview process limited to two rounds

The pay for this W-2 position ranges from $62.00 - $65.50 per hour
