Mobile Crisis Response Team (MCRT)

  • Telecare behavioral health program is a 24/7, Mobile Crisis Response Team (MCRT) serving individuals of all ages experiencing mental health crisis.

  • MCRT is creating an opportunity for Clinicians, Case Manager Master's, and Certified Peer Supports to intervene in a unique way that has never been done before in our system of care.

  • This program collaborates and accepts referrals from the San Diego Access and Crisis Line (ACL) and law enforcement.

  • MCRT will offer crisis triage and management, risk assessment, in-person intervention, and case management.

  • Each team will respond to calls from the mobile crisis van to provide services directly in the field

Position Summary


The Clinician provides mental health support services to members served and their families at the program. The Clinician also assists in the coordination of all mental health support services provided by the Team. This includes coordinating and collaborating with team members and outside agencies such as, the Conservator's Office, Public Guardian's Office, Probation Department, County Behavioral Health Services, and housing and inpatient providers. San Diego Mobile Crisis Response Team (MCRT) Clinician provides telephone screening, triage and referral services and assures that every consumer caller receives timely response to their call, accurate assessments, appropriate interventions and professional attention.

What are the qualifications? (Must Have)



  • A Master's Degree in Social Sciencesor related field

  • Current registration with CA BBS as an AMFT, APCC, ACSW

  • Two (2) years of experience in providing crisis management and mental health services

  • Driver's license and vehicle insurance that is current and validwith your name listed as the driver

  • Your own personal vehicle to use for work to attend community meetings, drive on site to crisis if needed, and more.

  • Position requires transporting Members in program van


What will your role entail?



  • Dispatched and responds to emergency / crisis events in the community across San Diego County

  • Provides onsite therapeutic interventions support to persons and families in crisis

  • Collaborates with other First Responders as needed to provide onsite crisis support including, but not limited to, transporting members to appropriate levels of care

  • Will act as a leader for the dispatched mobile team, providing clinical guidance and instruction to team members

  • Will complete a concise assessment to paint a clinical picture of the members needs and provide appropriate treatment recommendations

  • Making appropriate referrals for placement, case management and aftercare services, as assigned

  • Developing and maintaining an awareness of community resource


Employment Status



    Preference for availability on PM shifts and Weekends


    PM: 3pm to 11:30pm


    Expected starting wage range is $52.94 - $65.40. Telecare applies geographic differentials to its pay ranges. The pay range assigned to this role will be based on the geographic location from which the role is performed. Starting pay is commensurate with relevant experience above the minimum requirements.
