Location:Medical Plaza One -9800 S Healthpark DriveFort Myers FL 33908 Department: LPG Adult GI Work Type: Full Time Shift: Shift 1/8:00:00 AM to 4:30:00 PM Minimum to Midpoint Pay Rate:$27.78 - $37.50 / hour Position Summary: The Practice Manager for the GI Hospitalist team is a critical leadership role responsible for the day-to-day operations, scheduling, and performance management of the GI Hospitalist team of providers. This position ensures optimal provider support, efficient workflows, and data-driven decision making to enhance patient care, patient and provider satisfaction, and operational effectiveness. Key Responsibilities: Operational Oversight:
- Oversee all aspects of operations for the GI Hospitalist team across multiple hospital campuses.
- Serve as the primary administrative point of contact for hospital-based GI providers, ensuring proactive support and resolution of operational issues.
- Collaborate with interdepartmental teams of nursing, endoscopy, ancillary services, and administrative teams to ensure seamless inpatient GI services.
Scheduling & Workforce Management:
- Develop, manage, and optimize complex provider schedules, including daily assignments, on-call coverage, float assignments, and PTO planning.
- Ensure adequate provider coverage to meet patient care needs while balancing provider well-being and workload distribution.
- Continuously evaluate schedule effectiveness and adjust based on volume trends and patient needs.
Data-Driven Performance Management:
- Utilize data analytics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to inform decisions, track productivity, and improve clinical and operational outcomes.
- Prepare and present regular reports on volumes, patient access, provider utilization, and other key metrics.
- Identify trends and opportunities for improvement through data analysis and collaborate on action plans.
Provider Support & Engagement:
- Serve as a resource and advocate for GI Hospitalist providers, ensuring they have the tools, support, and environment necessary for success.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Coordinate onboarding and orientation for new providers and support ongoing professional development.
Compliance & Quality:
- Ensure all operations are compliant with regulatory requirements, hospital policies, and best practices.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and support efforts to enhance patient safety and satisfaction.
Qualifications:
- Business, Nursing, or related field required; Bachelors degree in Healthcare Administration, Masters degree preferred.
- Minimum 35 years of healthcare management experience, preferably in a hospital or inpatient setting.
- Experience with physician group management and complex schedule development required.
- Strong analytical skills with experience using healthcare data for decision making.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, electronic health records (EHR), and scheduling platforms.
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of GI services and inpatient care models is strongly preferred.
- Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies is a plus.
