Overview: The Senior Staff Engineer L7 is responsible for designing and building our Continuous integration (CI) and Continuous Delivery (CD) platform which enables continuous test certification (functional and performance). This role utilizes hands on DevOps implementation skills, understanding and scaling of DevOps process and tooling to work independently, in addition to providing direction and mentoring team members.As an architect, the Senior Staff Engineer L7 will have the opportunity to work across many engineering teams and design and influence service architecture across the broad platform.

Duties and Responsibilities:

We are seeking a highly experienced and hands-on Principal Architect with deep expertise in .NET, Angular, and Cloud platforms (Azure/AWS/GCP). The ideal candidate should possess strong architecture and troubleshooting skills, a solid track record of full-stack development, and a collaborative mindset to guide development teams toward scalable, maintainable, and secure solutions.

Architectural Leadership




    • Define, own, and evolve architecture and design standards across enterprise applications.
    • Create high-level architecture documents and oversee low-level technical designs.
    • Provide architecture and design oversight for .NET, Angular, and Cloud-based solutions.
    • Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture, security, and compliance guidelines.



Hands-On Development




    • Develop proof-of-concepts (POCs) and key modules using .NET Core, C#, Angular, TypeScript, and SQL/NoSQL databases.
    • Lead code reviews and guide developers on best practices for coding, performance, and maintainability.
    • Support implementation and debugging of complex features in both front-end and back-end systems.



Cloud & DevOps




    • Design and implement cloud-native architectures on Azure / AWS / GCP.
    • Work closely with DevOps teams on CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and monitoring strategies.



Troubleshooting & Optimization




    • Diagnose and resolve performance bottlenecks across the full stack.
    • Troubleshoot production and integration issues with detailed root cause analysis.



Team Collaboration & Mentorship




    • Collaborate with product owners, business analysts, and QA to ensure technical feasibility and effective delivery.
    • Mentor senior and mid-level engineers, promoting architectural thinking and high coding standards.



Project Governance




    • Contribute to project planning and estimation activities.
    • If PMP certified, support project management responsibilities, including scope definition, risk management, and stakeholder communication.



Required Skills:




    • 10+ years of progressive experience in software development and architecture.
    • Strong hands-on expertise in:


      • .NET Core / C#
      • Angular (v10+)
      • REST APIs, Microservices, Event-driven architecture
      • Cloud platforms: Azure / AWS / GCP (preferred)
      • SQL Server / PostgreSQL / MongoDB


    • Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines.
    • Proficient in architecture patterns: layered, clean architecture, CQRS, etc.
    • Strong problem-solving, debugging, and performance tuning skills.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.



Preferred Qualifications:




    • Experience in working with distributed teams and global delivery models.
    • Lead architecture initiatives that impact business-critical systems.
    • Stay close to code while making high-level decisions.
    • Work with a collaborative, innovation-driven team.
    • Enjoy flexibility, leadership opportunities, and continuous learning.



Education:



  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or Information Technology


Physical Demands and Work Environment:



  • Sedentary work (i.e. sitting for long periods of time).
  • Frequently or constantly to lift, carry push, pull or otherwise move objects and repetitive motions.
  • Subject to inside environmental conditions.
  • Travel for this position will include less than 10% locally usually for training purposes.

In addition to the base compensation, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.

The actual base pay offered may vary depending on multiple factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity. At Inovalon, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.

Base Compensation Range
$167,900 $200,000 USD
