Farm Hand

Job Summary

The Farm Hand is responsible for maintaining all property/fields under Company control.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

• Perform repairs on perimeter fencing as necessary.
• Report fence and field conditions to General Manager.
• Responsible for grass cutting and removal from all other areas.
• Operate the Plant Irrigation system at the direction of the General Manager.
• Maintain the Center Pivot Irrigation System according to manufacturer's standards or as Company policy dictates.
• Responsible for all company farm equipment maintenance, preventative maintenance, cleanliness, pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles used.
• All other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Prior experience in farming, cultivation, and harvesting of hay.
• Experience with hand tools and farming equipment required.
• Good working knowledge of minor maintenance of equipment.

Preferred Qualifications

• High School diploma preferred.
• Good communication skills both oral and written.
• Detail oriented; well organized; ability to multi-task.
• Good math skills; multiplication and division of whole numbers.
  

Physical Demands

• Frequently required to walk, stand, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crawl, and crouch.
• Frequently required to move up to 100 lbs.
• Regularly required reach with hands and arms.
• Regularly required to adapt to changing weather conditions; flexibility in changing schedules.

Work Environment

Job functions will be carried out on plant property with high concentration of time on farm tractor.
