The Fort Myers, FL Coil and Extrusion Test Fence is seeking an R&D Technician to support the Coil and Extrusion Exterior Exposure Program. This position will involve technical tasks related to the exterior exposure weathering program. This position will be actively involved in tasks related to assembly of exposure/accelerated test series, exposing/retrieving panels, following all panel handling quality procedures, regular straightening/re-positioning of panels on exposure racks, as well as conducting readings according to all appropriate ASTM standards. This position will be required to follow all reporting and document retention requirements according to the lab quality management system. This position is also accountable for the necessary maintenance duties to install, build, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain exposure racks and lawn equipment/hand tools according to safety protocols to support the achievement of the site's business goals and objectives. This can include construction and/or assembly of exposure racks, installation/replacement of rack mounting posts, maintenance and operation of lawn equipment, maintenance and repair of exterior exposure fence, and any other maintenance/repair deemed necessary or required by management. This position is not eligible for sponsorship for work authorization now or in the future, including conversion to H-1B visa. - Effectively communicate with internal as well as external customers
- Conducts preventive maintenance tasks in a timely manner to ensure proper operation of all lawn equipment, hand tools and exterior exposure equipment in an efficient and safe manner.
- Inspects machinery while performing scheduled preventative maintenance.
- Assemble, document, and execute Preventative Maintenance programs throughout facility including supporting lab engineer on accelerated test equipment maintenance as well as the building and exterior exposure field.
- Assists in the installation of new lab equipment as needed/directed.
- Manage work in accordance with timeline goals.
- Adhere to company safety and quality standards at all times.
- Independently perform basic regular duties as outlined by management.
- Effectively able to utilize computing tools to communicate with internal stakeholders, capture and record data, schedule and execute meetings, and track maintenance tasks and performance according to timeline targets.
- Operates shop tools, equipment, and as many machines related to maintenance as skill level will permit
- Participation towards completion of other related tasks and duties as directed or needed.
- Supports site housekeeping and safety programs, maintaining a workplace that is clean and safe.
- Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be legally authorized to work in the country for which you are applying for employment (without now or in the future needing sponsorship for employment work visa and/or permanent residence status).
- High School diploma or equivalent.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience within a lab setting is preferred.
