JOB TITLE: CONFIGURATION MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST

DEPARTMENT: SUPPLY CHAIN

REPORTS TO: DIRECTOR OF SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT

CLASSIFICATION: EXEMPT

PRIMARY FUNCTION

The Configuration Management Specialist is responsible for the planning and execution of UAV's configuration requirements and deliverables. This role will ensure all UAV's configurations meet safety standards and operational needs as required by the customer. This includes configuration management planning, identification, control, status accounting and quality control of the scope of work.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensures that the inventory attached to the Platform Aerospace fleet of aircraft is kept current in all relevant databases.
  • Collaborate with project team and stakeholders to understand configuration management requirements on assigned projects.
  • Review all engineering departments documents, comparing details to project requirements.
  • Review and analyze initial plans, templates, drawings, and/or software documents to ensure continuity of product design configuration.
  • Collaborate with required members to prepare engineering change proposals.
  • Implement approved modifications across fielded inventory where required (Coordinates the implementation rather than implementing?)
  • Assist with developing and implementing records and status systems for assigned projects.
  • Coordinate with the engineering team to propose changes to BOM that align the product with more efficient configurations
  • Ensure parts numbering and serialization are maintained, as noted in plans and specifications, by managing the product identification process.
  • Develop and run process for tracking failures of equipment and report metrics.
  • Streamline processes and collaborate as needed to improve efficiency within the company.
  • Gather information, maintain compliance documents.
  • Analyze data and business processes to promote optimization opportunities, report metrics to Directors and Executive team.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or GED and 5-7 years of related experience
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance
  • Extreme attention to detail and high level of organization
  • Working knowledge in engineering and/or configuration field (manufacturing environment preferred)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-task environment
  • Ability to collaborate with others and work in a team setting
  • Critical thinking/problem solving skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in STEM related field
  • ERP/MRP experience preferred Cost Point Deltek
  • Ability to concentrate while performing complex tasks for sustained periods
  • Decision making skills, enthusiastic attitude and willingness to learn

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
  • Ability to traverse manufacturing facility
