The Lead Development Specialist at TRUMPF Ltd. is responsible for managing and optimizing the lead lifecycle within the CRM system (SAP C4C) for TRUMPF in the UK. This role involves maintaining accurate customer and prospect data, coordinating with sales and marketing teams, qualifying leads, and supporting sales initiatives. The specialist will also analyze lead performance and contribute to the development of outbound campaigns and market research. The Lead Manager will report to the Managing Director, while supporting activities across the three Sales divisions of Machine Tools, Laser Technology and existing customer base Services sales development. The role would ideally suit a graduate with 2-3 years experience in a sales, marketing or commercial role looking to grow into a standalone position developing and managing leads on behalf of an industrial business selling into the manufacturing sector. Key Responsibilities
- Act as Key User for CRM (SAP C4C), ensuring data accuracy and system efficiency.
- Maintain and update customer and prospect contact data, including machine information (competitors and TRUMPF machines), contacts detail, touch points.
- Liaise with department heads and marketing teams to align lead management with business goals.
- Builds on global sales initiatives and campaigns in line with the sales strategy, liaising with Sales Managers as appropriate
- Generate outbound leads through post-event campaigns, market research, and trend analysis
- Qualify inbound and outbound leads using BANT criteria and initial customer engagement.
- Collaborate with marketing to nurture leads and maintain communication with declined prospects
- Monitor lead performance metrics and campaign effectiveness (e.g. Generated leads, lead follow up rate, lead source effectiveness and efficiency and lead quantity status)
- Review and optimize the sales funnel and lead flow processes to identify gaps between status and targeted volume required to achieve opportunity level required.
- Provide feedback and suggest improvements to marketing and sales teams.
- Evaluate trends and business growth areas within the UK manufacturing market, eg. Cloud computing.
- Sales steering: define flow and volume of leads, evaluate leads, including those declined, updating C4C and liaising with Sales Managers, Develop and suggest measures to Marketing and Sales (including also local external partners/dealers) if required.
Required Experience
- Sales or marketing experience - minimum 2-3 years. Ideally experience in CRM administration and lead management.
- Able to utilise the Microsoft Office suit, Power BI
- Proficiency in CRM systems, especially SAP C4C
- Familiarity with sales and marketing processes.
- Knowledge of the machine tool industry is advantageous.
