Terros Health is hiring a Health Center Support Specialist for our Bridging the Gap (BTG) Re-Entry Program, in Mesa, AZ.

Full-Time

Monday - Friday, 8am - 4:30pm

The Health Center Support Specialist is the front line for interfacing with patients in Terros Health Centers. The position performs a variety of duties which include, but are not limited to, greeting individuals, appointment scheduling, chart creation, determining, documenting, auditing and maintaining accurate and current enrollment, eligibility and benefit coverage for clients/patients to ensure appropriate and timely reimbursement for services, billing outreach and patient interactions, intake interviews, gathering information and paperwork.

Duties:



  • Greet individuals coming into the clinic in a professional and courteous manner, assist their needs promptly with compassion, in accordance with Terros Health values.
  • Promptly answer all incoming calls using the Terros Health standard greeting, directing calls to requested area or individual, correctly and in a timely manner.
  • Process the check in of patients and notify the appropriate staff member of the arrival of patients. Update relevant information during auto-flow by completing four-point check.
  • Review and update the daily schedules; ensuring all necessary data is accurately collected.
  • Gather and maintain patient demographics, ensuring accurate and complete information, in compliance with UDS guidelines.
  • Schedule patients according to schedule availability and in accordance with agency standards.
  • Basic knowledge of insurance levels, such as, Medicare, Medicaid, commercial plans, and various other types and knowledge of funders and programs at Terros Health.
  • Will assist patients with applying for, and maintaining, state Medicaid benefits (and other state benefits, as appropriate).
  • Obtains and reviews for eligibility available financial support options for clients/patients, including identifying requirements and/or expectations related to prior authorization, co-payment, co-insurance, and deductibles.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GED within six (6) months of assuming this position Or Associates degree in medical and health (e.g. healthcare administration, insurance billing and coding, psychology) or care social work, human services, communication preferred. Must meet requirements of a BHPP position, BHT credentialing is preferred.
  • At least one- year relevant front office customer facing and focused service experience in healthcare, hospitality (i.e., meeting or conventions, hotel), or banking required. Front office experience in healthcare, behavioral health, dental or a medical office is preferred.
  • Familiarity with health insurance eligibility and electronic health record management systems. Experience with NextGen preferred.
  • Intermediate level of competency in Microsoft Suite and web-based programs.
  • Experience in managing a wide range of administrative, support related tasks. Must be well organized, flexible, able to multi-task, possess strong time management skills, attention to detail and enjoy working in a fast-paced, ever changing environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven track record of delivering a high level of customer service in a healthcare setting.
  • This role is a non-driving position. Must be 18 years of age and with less than two years' driving experience or no driving experience.
  • Must have a valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance card or apply for an Arizona fingerprint clearance card (Level 1) within seven working days of assuming role.
  • Must pass a TB Test.
