GENERAL SUMMARY: Responsible for contributing to key analytics projects across Bryan Health, working directly with leaders and stakeholders to use data to inform and drive strategy and execution. Provides end-to-end support by proactively identifying analytic opportunities, gathering requirements, scoping, analyzing, validation, creating deliverables (visualizations, reports, summary insights, etc.), and presenting actionable results, often to senior executives. Actively researches current and future business problems and works closely with internal staff to gain in-depth understanding of business strategy, processes, services, and the context in which the business operates. Demonstrates a high level of technical expertise in data analytics, statistical software, and data visualization coupled with problem-solving, communication, and business acumen. Translates results of complex cross-functional analyses into easily digestible, actionable insights to enable data-driven decision making. Serves as an analytics expert for stakeholders. Communicates complex findings to non-technical stakeholders in plain succinct language and uses results to tell stories and make recommendations. 4. *Serves as a resource for end-users, guiding them to interpret and leverage analytic solutions effectively. 5. *Effectively drives cross-functional collaboration, engaging with operational and IT team members to push projects to completion. 6. *Solves business problems through advanced technical skill using SQL, Python, Power BI, Excel, Epic, and other tools; designing enterprise-wide visualizations and reporting solutions for non-technical users. 7. *Identifies, extracts, cleans, and manipulates large data sets independently to uncover key insights and trends. 8. Automates manual processes to increase efficiency and accuracy. 9. Gathers requirements, translating non-technical needs into business requirements to guide solution design. 10. *Drives end-to-end support of analytics projects from inception, technical design, development, testing, and delivery, to ongoing maintenance of business intelligence solutions. 11. *Leads analyses, including monitoring ongoing patterns and operational performance for departments and service lines, cost benefit analyses, point-in-time research, etc. 12. Keeps leadership informed of trends and key insights that impact Bryan Health through actively researching business problems and designing analyses that drive toward real-world solutions. 13. Solves complex problems and independently develops solutions to novel and evolving business needs. 14. Works seamlessly with internal and external customers and IT staff to understand what's most important, develop appropriate analyses, and move toward business solutions. 15. Supports senior-level team members with project work, as necessary. 16. Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise. 17. Participates in meetings, committees and department projects as assigned. 18. Performs other related projects and duties as assigned. (Essential Job functions are marked with an asterisk "*"). REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 1. Knowledge of healthcare operations and common systems (i.e., quality, pharmacy, nursing, emergency department, hospital billing, etc.). 2. Knowledge of computer hardware equipment and software applications relevant to work functions. 3. Highly proficient with common analytics, reporting, and visualization tools and methods (including SQL, Power BI, Python, Excel). 4. Significant, demonstrated skill in written and verbal communication, as well as strong presentation skill. 5. Skill in developing dashboard solutions using Power BI, Epic radar, Epic SlicerDicer and other comparable tools. 6. Skill in data validation and quality assurance processes and proficient in basic principles of data governance. 7. Ability to execute complex work with minimal oversight. 8. Ability to demonstrate critical thinking, problem solving, and analytical skills with an eye toward process improvement. 9. Ability to practice proper body mechanics to ensure personal and customer/patient safety. 10. Ability to perform crucial conversations with desired outcomes. 11. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of personnel and medical staff. 12. Ability to maintain confidentiality relevant to sensitive information. 13. Ability to prioritize work demands and work with minimal supervision. 14. Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Analytics, Statistics, or related field required. Minimum of two (2) years of experience in analytics, data management, and data interpretation, including writing complex queries with Microsoft SQL Server required. Prior healthcare and Epic experience preferred. Prior Power BI and/or Python experience preferred. OTHER CREDENTIALS / CERTIFICATIONS: Epic certification in Cogito Fundamentals required within six (6) months of hire. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: (Physical Requirements are based on federal criteria and assigned by Human Resources upon review of the Principal Job Functions.) (DOT) - Characterized as sedentary work requiring the exertion of up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including a human body. This position is responsible for working with all assigned areas, including all entity locations. Occasional travel (including overnight) may be required based on the needs of the organization. |
