ABOUT THE ROLE:

Serves as a part of the patient care and support teams. Provides daily cleaning in patient and assigned facility rooms, documents patient's dismissal from rooms, collection, removal and transport of trash and soiled linen, replenishment of supplies and furniture arrangement for meetings. Completes work in accordance with department and Medical Center policies, procedures, and infection control guidelines.

YOUR ROLE WOULD ENCOMPASS:



  • Commits to the mission, vision, beliefs and consistently demonstrates our core values.
  • Sets up, cleans, and returns required cleaning cart and equipment.
  • Cleans assigned area per facility and department procedures and guidelines.
  • Removes trash and soiled linen; accesses medication rooms without supervision to perform necessary cleaning.
  • Monitors, removes, and replaces sharps containers.
  • Safely operates required equipment.
  • Power scrubs/buffs floors.
  • Arranges furniture.
  • Reviews unit's needs for patient dismissals and transfers.
  • Contains and removes contaminated items.
  • Makes dismissal beds.
  • Replenishes required supplies in assigned area.
  • Utilizes computer to complete required job training and personnel-related activities as needed.
  • Unloads/sorts linen carts.
  • Stocks shelves/monitors linen inventory.
  • Assists with linen ordering process; assembles, fills and delivers linen orders.
  • Maintains carts, shelves, and work area in a clean orderly fashion.
  • Monitors and changes linen and trash chute collection carts.
  • Seals, transports, and stores infectious and confidential waste and compacts non-infectious and non-confidential waste.
  • Decontaminates/steams trash tubs/barrels.
  • *Wears appropriate protective equipment for products and equipment being used and assignments being completed.
  • Supports and is involved in the Medical Center's Journey to Excellence initiatives.
  • Responds to emergency situations according to Medical Center and department policies; uses proper body mechanics; reports all safety concerns.
  • Enters restricted access areas, without supervision, to perform assigned work.
  • Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise.
  • Participates in meetings, committees and department projects as assigned.


YOUR EXPERIENCE INCLUDES (PROVEN PERFORMANCE IN):



  • Graduation from a high school or equivalent - preferred
  • Previous custodial or cleaning experience - desired
