About the Job

The School of Public Health Division of Epidemiology & Community Health is seeking applications for a temp/casual (hourly) Community Program Evaluation Assistant (0001 job code) to support a university evaluation of Ramsey County's Food Bag Program in the Justice System.

Starting pay is dependent upon the selected candidate's relevant qualifications, experience, and internal equity: $22.00 to $28.00 per hour.

The incumbent may have the option to work partially remotely but onsite work will be required. Onsite locations: 1300 South Second Street, Suite 300, Minneapolis, MN 55454 and various Ramsey County office locations.

Duration/Hours: The position is expected to go to December 2025 and will require <14 hours of work per week (weekly hours worked will likely ebb and flow over time).

Responsibilities:

The Ramsey County's Food Bag Program aims to address food insecurity among Ramsey County residents involved with the justice system.

The selected candidate will work with Dr. Melissa Laska and leaders at Ramsey County.

100% Research Assistance
Assist with organizing evaluation documentation, conducting qualitative focus groups and interviews with probation officers, and analyzing qualitative data under Dr. Laska's guidance.

Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Demonstrate a foundational understanding of public health

Preferred

  • Experience with qualitative research
  • Previous experience working with underserved communities and/or individuals involved in the justice system

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $22.00 to $28.00 per hour; depending on education/qualifications/experience.
