This position will require travel between both offices- St John Health Center in Macomb Township and St John Hospital Professional Building 2 Moross Rd in Grosse Pointe Woods. Medical Assistant - Eastside Neurosurgery - 40 Hours - Days $2,500 Sign-on Bonus Eligible for Full-Time Benefits Shift: Days 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. No weekends. GENERAL SUMMARY: Assists with the examination and treatment of patients/participants under the direction of a physician. Responsibilities: Assists with treatments ordered by physician as supervised by physician or registered nurse. Performs select clinical duties. Interviews patients/participants, measures vital signs, and records information on patients/participants charts. Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients/participants. Performs basic clerical duties including answering the phone, maintaining records, and filing. Performs basic materials management functions such as ordering and stocking of supplies. Assists with maintaining a clean and orderly environment. CERTIFICATION/LICENCES REQUIRED: BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association OR American Red Cross accepted Medical Assistant obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. Any issuing authority accepted EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE PREFERRED: Previous medical experience preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology. Ability to work independently in fast paced physician office.
