JOB TITLE: LEAD SHIPPING RECEIVING CLERK

FSLA STATUS: NON-EXEMPT

DEPARTMENT: Warehouse

REPORTS TO: Victor Flores

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for leading and executing the daily activities of a busy Shipping & Receiving team. This includes managing all transactions and movement within the warehouse and that of inbound and outbound material. The Lead Shipping & Receiving Clerk has a key role in our Operations team, finding better, smarter, more cost-efficient ways to get things done and must be able to create momentum and excitement to implement change.

Essential Functions of the Job:



  • Must be a certified forklift driver.
  • Schedule inbound/outbound freight.
  • Submit customs documentation.
  • Ensure orders are following FIFO.
  • Work with QA to clear shipments in a timely manner.
  • Maintain all documentation as it pertains to shipping/receiving to SQF standards.
  • Must be able to read and understand inventory batch tickets.
  • Stage and prepare ingredients and materials as outlined on batch tickets.
  • Ability to receive and properly move, store and scan products.
  • Utilizing the Oracle production tools and wireless handheld computers to correctly issue and scan materials that are consumed for production.
  • Performs a variety of quality checks to ensure standards and specifications are met.
  • Manage all functions related to cleaning and sanitizing their work area.
  • Perform and document all inspections of forklifts.
  • Trouble shoots and resolves basic to moderate operating issues involving inventory.
  • Communicate with all other facility personnel regarding any delays or problems that may hinder production.
  • Must be able to perform basic math calculations as required.
  • Must follow all employee safety, food safety and quality procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's).
  • Responsible for proper shift handoff with oncoming/outgoing operators.
  • Complete additional duties as assigned.
  • Must be able to lift to 50 pounds.
  • A robust and symbiotic relationship with the Operations team is a must.
  • Must wear all required PPE as required, including safety glasses, gloves, and seatbelts.
  • Complete all required paperwork in a neat and professional manner.
  • Leadership and ownership of the department, job responsibilities and job function.
  • Must be able to work independently as well as professionally with other team members.



Supervisory Responsibilities:



  • None.



Minimum Qualifications:



  • Minimum High School; associated degree or higher preferred.
  • 2 years of manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Forklift experience required.
  • Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Outlook.



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Ability to accurately operate an RF scanner.
  • Experience with an SAP program (real-time tracking).

  • Good verbal, written and multi-tasking skills, can do attitude.
  • High-energy, flexible, self-starter.
  • Attention to detail.

  • Travel Expectation: None
  • This position will be at the Plantin St. Davids, Ontario
  • Relocation or international remote working arrangements (outside of the US) will not be considered.



Work Environment/Physical Demands:



  • Approximately 100% of work is performed in a production environment.
  • Must be available to workday and afternoon shifts.
  • Must be able to stand/walk for majority of the shift.
  • Competency in performing multiple tasks.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize.
  • Must have reliable transportation (location is off bus route).
