Technician, Maintenance (Millwright)

Millwright - (Borger, Texas, USA)

As part of the Maintenance department, the Millwright will report to the Maintenance Trades Supervisor. The Millwright will maintain mechanical equipment including steam turbines, gear boxes, blowers, compressors, and various types of pumps and conveyor systems.

What you will do:

• Ensuring safe and efficient work practices, including following and adhering to all safety policies and procedures
• Performing daily maintenance and overhauls on all rotating equipment, as required
• Performing daily and routine preventative maintenance on rotating equipment, as required
• Performing millwright work including major overhauls of rotating equipment
• Documenting repairs and reliability information on equipment
• Following written procedures and completing detailed checklist
• Working closely with contractors, vendors, and internal departments to develop PM standards on equipment
• Attending and completing require training, internally and externally specific to job skills
• Play a critical role not only in ensuring your own safetybut the safety of others
• Operate mobile equipment as required
• Deliver quality work with limited supervision
• Work outside scheduled hours (including holidays) as needed to ensure plant reliability
• Complete work in plant environment in all weather conditions

What you will bring:

• 3+ years on-the-job experience as a millwright mechanic in a heavy industrial environment preferred
• Experience with a milling machine or lathe a plus
• Highschool diploma or equivalent
• Certifications in Pump & Seal, MLT1 Lubrication Analysis, and/or Vibration Analysis preferred
• Must have and maintain a valid driver's license
• Troubleshooting and analytical ability
• Experience with laser alignment & reserve dial alignment; use of dial calipers, dial indicators, OD & ID micrometers, etc.
• Proficient in pump alignment to meet industry standards
• Ability to interpret drawings & information from equipment IOM's
• Knowledge of various types of mechanical seals
• Understanding of different types of bearings & bearing arrangements
• Working knowledge of computer systems and data management systems including SAP and Microsoft Office Suite preferred
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to operate various types of heavy equipment & obtain certifications
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs. on a daily basis
• Ability to climb stairs and/or ladders 40-50' in height
