The Department of Urology seeks to provide all patients with the best urological care. Our clinical trials are designed to strengthen and accelerate the pathway of discovery from the medical laboratory to the clinic.


Your Role on the Team

Under the supervision of a Clinical Research Supervisor or Principal Investigator (PI), the incumbent will perform entry-level duties related to the support and coordination of clinical studies and may receive training and development to prepare and advance for journey-level work at the next level within the series. May be responsible for the coordination of one or more single or multi-site, active or follow-up clinical trials; help prepare protocols for study initiation; help design flow sheets, data forms and source documents; gather and interpret medical, surgical and laboratory data regarding clinical trial subjects; may apply understanding of inclusion/exclusion eligibility criteria for protocols; help recruit, enroll, register, schedule and retain study subjects; record protocol specific treatments and assure collection and shipment of samples; assist research personnel to keep patients on study schedules; complete study forms to submit to sponsors and/or appropriate agencies; collect, enter and clean data into study databases, maintaining data quality; assist with data analysis; assist with preparation of reports and tables; attend team meetings; and perform other duties as assigned. Will work on Biorepository clinical study protocol. This includes subject enrollment, specimen collection/transfer, specimen processing, data collection, and attending operating room cases for clinical study purposes.


What It Takes to be Successful

Required:

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of campus and hospital administration staff, faculty and industry sponsors.
  • Strong and proven organization and administrative skills: scheduling, data/file management, word processing (Microsoft Word), spreadsheets (EXCEL), copying, phone skills, data entry.
  • Experience working in a medical/clinical setting and familiarity with medical terminology.
  • Experience in working with human subjects
  • Good communication skills both oral and written.
  • Ability to independently compose correspondence with ability to use proper English grammar and spelling.
  • Demonstrated evidence of successful multi-tasking and complex problem-solving abilities.
  • BA/BS
  • 1-3 years of experience as an ACRC
  • Knowledge of University IRB policies and procedures as they apply to the submission and conduct of clinical research.

Preferred:

  • Previous UC system experience.
  • Familiarity with University contract and grant procedures in the conduct of clinical trials.

Special Conditions:

  • Must be willing to occasionally work early/late or flexible hours, as necessary per clinical study protocols.
