Role Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Data Analyst to join our Learning & Development team. In this critical role, you will leverage our data to generate actionable insights and develop robust reporting solutions that directly inform strategic decisions related to our workforce development and learning effectiveness. You will partner closely with learning & development, talent acquisition, operations, and other key stakeholders to understand their needs, design and implement data models optimized for learning & development data, and create compelling visualizations that drive impactful learning strategies. A strong understanding of data domains and advanced analytics techniques applied to learning & development is essential. Experience with learning & development technologies like Cornerstone and data visualization tools is preferred.


Responsibilities

Learning & Development Data Analysis and Interpretation:

  • Analyze large and complex learning & development datasets (from systems like Cornerstone and internal tools) to identify key trends, patterns, and insights related to training effectiveness, skill development, and workforce readiness

  • Interpret complex learning data and translate findings into clear, concise, and actionable recommendations for learning & development and business leaders

  • Conduct in-depth investigations into data anomalies and discrepancies to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and compliance

Analytics Reporting and Visualization:

  • Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports specifically focused on learning & development metrics using data visualization tools

  • Create compelling data visualizations that effectively communicate key learning performance indicators (KPIs) and workforce development trends to various stakeholders

  • Automate data reporting processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness

  • Build executive-level reporting on learning ROI and business impact

Data Modeling and Warehousing:

  • Develop and maintain data models and data warehouse structures optimized for learning & development data to support training analytics and reporting needs

  • Design and implement ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from various systems (Cornerstone, Jira, Confluence, Wrike, Google Workspace, internal tools) into the learning & development data warehouse

  • Ensure data quality, consistency, and security across all learning & development data systems

  • Integrate scattered data sources to create unified view of learning effectiveness

Collaboration and Communication (Learning & Development Focus):

  • Collaborate closely with learning & development business partners, talent acquisition, operations, and other teams to understand their strategic questions and translate them into analytics requirements

  • Communicate complex learning & development data findings and insights to learning & development and business audiences in a clear, understandable, and impactful manner, tailoring the message to their specific needs

  • Support compliance reporting and audit requirements for training programs

Technology and Tools (Learning & Development Data Emphasis):

  • Utilize and optimize data analysis and reporting tools relevant to learning & development analytics, including SQL, Python (for learning & development data manipulation and analysis), and data visualization software

  • Work with cloud-based data platforms for processing and analysis of learning & development data

  • Create and share collaborative analytics projects with learning & development stakeholders

  • Experience working with learning & development specific systems like Cornerstone for data extraction and analysis is highly desirable


Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Data Science, Business Analytics, related field, or equivalent work experience

  • 3+ years of experience in a data analysis or business intelligence role, with a focus on strategic insights

  • Proficiency in SQL and experience querying large-scale databases, particularly those containing learning & development data

  • Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes, with the ability to apply them to learning & development data integration

  • Proven ability to translate complex learning & development data into actionable business insights that address key challenges and opportunities

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively influence learning & development and business stakeholders with data-driven narratives

Preferred:

  • Experience with SQL, Python, and Cornerstone preferred

  • Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, or similar) and proven ability to visualize learning & development data effectively

  • Strong understanding of learning & development data domains and metrics (e.g., training completion rates, skill assessment scores, learning effectiveness, time-to-competency)

  • Experience working with learning & development technologies such as Cornerstone, Qualtrics etc.

  • Familiarity with statistical analysis and modeling techniques relevant to learning analytics (e.g., regression, correlation, forecasting)

  • Experience in manufacturing, automotive, or technical training environments

  • Understanding of compliance and safety training requirements
